Cocktails were amazing. Service was fabulous - Peter was very friendly and professional. He knew the menu incredibly well and was kind enough to recommend things to do. 5 star service indeed ! Only a 4 star because of the toilets sadly.

Just a quiet beverage in between shopping . *Returned for my 50th birthday meal. All I can say is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. from arrival, the staff were very polite and welcoming. Showed us to our table and had water straight away . The menu is very classy, with a good range of dishes to suit. Not over comicated either. The cocktails are delicious, and the food was out of this world. Quite a laid back restaurant, but the feel and surroundings are classic and regal. You really do want to dress up for a meal here. It's quite special.

We were here after being given a meal for two gift experience for Christmas and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. Although the restaurant was quiet, the atmosphere felt great and the music was perfect, making the restaurant somewhere we would certainly return to. Portion sizes were very generous and almost too much, which is always a pleasant surprise at a restaurant of this stature. We opted for the white wine included in the experience, and although it was the cheapest on the menu, we would happily drink it again. The service from all the waiting staff was brilliant and there was never a moment when we were uncomfortably waiting for anything.

This place didn’t disappoint! We wanted a little extra for Friday night dinner on our trip to Edinburgh. We got a little extra; the place was gorgeous, classic French interior and waiters in white shirts. Staff was very welcoming and attentive, the food was sublime, and a small, but high standard wine selection. If you want to experience some classic, high standard French food in the chill and welcoming Scottish atmosphere— go to Brasserie Prince!

Excellent food and very good service with a couple of negative points. We really liked the salmon and the mussels, as well as the endive salad and the fries. The desserts were very good too. 4 stars instead of 5 for only two reasons: - the salmon supposedly came with truffles but there wasn't a hint of truffle taste - a 10% tip was automatically and discreetly added to the bill - I understand it's common here, but the way it was so discreet just really bothered me, especially for us tourists who are not used to this custom

Called in for my birthday lunch with my wife. I had a steak and sweet and my wife had the 2 course lunch menu. Fabulous food, in fact one of the best meals we’ve had for a long long time. Really nice staff who took time to chat and brought me out a macaroon with a candle in it which I thought a lovely touch. More expensive than our usual price bracket but for a special occasion I’d recommend it.

Fantastic Prince punch cocktail and customer service. The staff who served us was very knowledgeable about drinks and cocktails and her recommendations were excellent.

Certainly more a 4.5*. The informal and relaxed restaurant of the well renown Balmoral Hotel (Sean Connery, JK Rowling among others are names associated to this wonderful hotel). A Brasserie more in name than in essence, it'a very stylish and chic restaurant offering high quality French cuisine, with well executed and presented dishes, providing a relaxed dining experience. The staff are great, very professional and attentive providing an excellent service. Comfortable and visually pleasing, combines a palette of colours and materials. Soft blues and greens contrasting with the paper and stained oak panels in the walls. Square sections of ceiling with green and white stripes, recessed lighting and globular dimmed candlelight in the middle is very pleasing and gives a warm and cosy feel. My choice of Chicken liver parfait and Scottish salmon, baby leeks and truffle hollandaise sauce was, as expected, very well cooked and presented. The choc fondant with mint ice cream a fitting end to a delicious meal. Very highly recommended!
