Good little restaurant, food is excellent and great value for the standard. Staff are super friendly and can't do enough. Limited tables, so always book in advance to avoid disappointment. Will 100% visit again when in the area.
Family run restaurant, the owner is very mindful of dietary requirements as she has allergies herself. So I was even offered a choice of gluten-free pastas! How good is that? My husband was delighted with the novel Italian non alcoholic beer.
We found this restaurant by chance and what a find! The food was great especially the chicken with a spicy tomato sauce. With great service and friendly staff, we had a really lovely evening.
I highly recommend this Italian restaurant mixing traditional Italian food with Scottish recipes. I enjoyed their starter mixing goat cheese and salmon and their chicken breast with gorgonzola sauce. Very friendly staff too.
From atmosphere to the plate, you can sense perfection. Very well run family business. Menu is remarkable and very wide in Italian quisine.
Definitely a 5 stars from me
The staff were so lovely to us from the second we walked in! The food was honestly amazing. Genuinely felt like we were old friends being given special treatment by how amazing the food and service was. The woman taking our order helped us change our order around the menu so that we didn't end up with too much food or wasting money - a rare thing! Also, the food? To die for. The portions looked average sized when we first saw them but my god they are so filling! We originally wanted dessert but were too stuffed!
10/10 we will be back!
Fab as ever. We no longer live in the area, but as we were back for a visit, a meal at Alborgo was very important for us. Amazingly friendly staff as always, food excellent, just can't fault it. Will always return when we're in the area, and know many friends who are glad to have it open again. Well done to all the staff.
Food was excellent and very generous serving accompanied with good selection of wine to go with. And the owners were delightful people…
This is a great wee family restaurant. It's always friendly and welcoming, especially for kids. Great range of pizza/pasta, and other Italian dishes, and a good make your own ice cream bar, which obviously the kids think is great.
Can also accommodate kids' parties in the back room, which is great fun.
During the lockdown days, we walked with a friend of mine overall 55km on that day: from Craigmillar, via innocent railway pathway, through Bruntsfield, the Water of Leith to Balerno, a loop around Pentlands through Carlops and Silverburn, and back to Balerno to return back to Craigmillar the same way.
On our way back, we came off the Water of Leith path to find this really friendly restaurant. I only asked for a cup of tea, as I was extremely ( as you can probably imagine) tired. The owner was not serving tea, but came out of her way and prepared me probably the best in life cuppa, and did not charge me a penny for it, despite I insisted on paying.
I would have never expected this level of kindness, especially it was COVID time and every business struggled to survive.
I'll definitely come back for a meal once the pandemic is over. It smells of home- made, authentic food when passing the place, which is prepared by an authentic Italian ch
