Ordered the seafood risotto. This dish was absolutely delicious that I forgot to take photo before diving in. The squid could have been a little crispier but it didn’t take away from the dish at all. The wife ordered the vintage cheddar Mac and cheese and that was one of the best Mac and cheese’s I’ve had. They forgot the garlic bread but quickly made it right and very apologetic. With all the pubs through Edinburgh we will definitely be back.

One of the best pubs in Edinburgh. Very good customer service too. The only con I find is - the food and drinks take a lot of time to arrive. The washrooms were super clean and the pub was very neat and tidy. Do remember that the pub is always crowded and don't forget to reserve a table before coming to the pub.

This was the place we chose for our first meal out in Edinburgh and it was the right decision. As we entered they told us they could be an hour wait for the food but actually it didn't take any longer than usual. The service was friendly and efficient. The food was absolutely top notch. I would especially recommend the haggis fritters, even for those whose imagination of haggis puts them off. Prices were also very reasonable.I highly recommend this place!

We popped by the Beehive for a late lunch in the Old Town and were satisfied with our experience. The food selection was varied and all of our dishes were good. We also enjoyed a host of delicious cocktails that were reasonably priced. We often had difficulty getting the waitress’ attention, however, and our table was not clean when we were seated. Otherwise, not much to complain about.

Lovely pub with a good selection of drinks, draught, bottle, etc. However I did find a pint rather pricey (£6.55) Staff were all friendly and polite. Especially the chap running about delivering food, collecting glasses, etc. I ordered the BBQ Korean burger, and it was really good. The chips were cooked perfectly, crispy and fluffy! Burger was amazing. Cooked very well and full of flavour. Will definitely visit again.

Myself and my partner visited here on Tuesday and got a bite to eat and a drink, and the quality of the food was outstanding, couldn't fault a single thing! That good we returned for more on the Wednesday, and again the food was absolutely fantastic Great atmosphere. Very attentive staff, great place to visit if your into your history (or good food for that matter!) Overall a solid 10/10, will definetly be returning.

The first night in Edinburgh we were a little at a loss because everywhere was so busy. We stumbled in to the Doctors and get 2 great seats by the fire. They were out of what I wanted but the gammon was great. My wife loved the chicken, bacon and leak pie. Place was exceptionally busy but the service was good. We enjoyed it so much and went back the second night. They’d obviously run out of bacon so the pie wasn’t as great but it was still good.

Great pub grub, good atmosphere, lovely staff and tasty food, from fantastic Sunday roasts and a shandy you can't go wrong! <br/>A local for me just around the corner, but always is the first place i think of when needing to get out and have a simple meal and drink, sundays have pub quiz nights which are super fun, if you are very brainy this is your place to go!

On my third visit to Edinburgh, I was finally staying in a very fancy hotel (Quartermile Apart Hotel) which was in the meadow's (reviewing that very soon). After a long day of work, I decided to meet my friend who recently moved to Edinburgh for work. We were meeting after 5 years so the focus was not a extremely fancy place but just the conversation and company. I had spotted Doctors before while I was trying to find my hotel and it definitely was the landmark for me so I thought it would be unfair to not have at least one drink there AND it was extremely close from the hotel. <br/><br/>We went inside and it was a very warm pub feel which is kind of what I expected. A local band was playing some live folk music too, but I have to say that they were not even close to being good as the lead singer was completely out of sync (yes even I understood that). We decided to sit by the bar as its always good to have easy access to drinks (wink). The bar staff were really friendly just like other Scottish People (they are so refreshingly friendly) and we had good banter with them. The guy at the bar was convinced that I had an American accent (I get that from some people). They had a good selection of beers and ciders which is always a plus. The music was not ridiculously loud so it was possible to have a good conversation without having to lose your voice. The pub offers what it is supposed to - good selection of alcohol, moderate pricing, clean toilets and friendly bar staff and live music (which was not that great). <br/><br/>Verdict : Great place to catch up, I can see it must be very popular amongst students because of the generous pricing strategy!
