Have wandered past this place a few times and thought I'd give it a try this week. So glad I did Great food, friendly staff and lovely place to relax. Highly recommend.
I eat here all the time as it is next door to where I work. It actually sells the nicest Italian style coffee in Edinburgh and the Piadines (a type of Italian flatbread) are extremely yummy, especially the "inter piadine" which is salty deliciousness. I love their pancetta scone which is thin pancetta ham put between two potato scones and put in a sandwich toaster. Its so tasty it actually makes my teeth ache slightly to think about it. I get them to add herbed half cherry tomatoes to mine. It's a good place!!
Great. I really like this place. They have fantastic coffee and it's a very chilled environment. Fun for the kids too as they have a selection of Italian sweetie and ice cream.
What better way to compliment a nice, relaxed walk on a sunny day in May in Stockbridge than with a spirit-lifting bruschetta? Sprio's put on a delightful wee spread for the intrepid wanderer, fresh sun-kissed tomatoes resting on a thick mattress of bread, all tucked in with mild cheese and oregano.
The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, and very understanding when one finds oneself 10p short of the price of one's meal. I'm glad to say my penance was paid before I continued on my travels, marching on a full and happy stomach thanks to this little deli.
Delicious pear cake and good coffee. Nice atmosphere accentuated by the Italian radio that was playing which really made me feel like I'd got out of Edinburgh for a wee bit.

A small but brilliant little place with fantastic ltalian posters on the wall with superb coffee beats the chains all ends up. If your hungry try the beautiful food. Simple but mouth watering.
Very friendly and courteous owners, the best italian coffee and panninis made with the highest quality of ingredients. When ever I am in St Stephen Street I make a point of going even if its just to get a takeaway coffee to support this great local business.
This is a wonderful neighbourhood Italian cafe. I had a delicious piadine for £4.50. The coffee selection is very well priced, too. The customer service was friendly and, well, delightfully Italian! Note: There is no card machine.

I can only describe the hot chocolate as magical - its absolutely incredible!! A lovely proper italian place - can't wait to come back and try the extra thick hot chocolate!
neighbourhood italian cafe, very like you would find in italy. staff are pleasant, food is simple and for a salad and coffee you will pay around £8 per person. when sunny you can sit outside which is really nice and it is very popular with the locals
