Flying visit before a show at the Kings. We only had time for coffee but I will be back to try the food. Service was very fast. We had to go away and come back as it was full but the staff still took care over my toddler who is autistic and made him up a special drink.

Central, small and friendly, unpretentious, wholesome food freshly prepared by real people and they even have a corner where you can buy some locally produced organic veggies and chocolate. Very reasonable prices. I prefer places without music, but at least the music was soft enough to allow vibration without strain. Ground floor, wheelchair accessible toilet. Would go again.

We were a little bit late this morning but the very friendly owner made it possible that we still got breakfast, which was really really nice. And she also made it possible for me to have a vegan breakfast, so if you are reading this, thanks again :)) we really enjoyed it. This cute independent family-run café had an relaxing atmosphere and it's a beautiful place.

Me and my friend had an excellent experience here. Even though we came around lunch time, we still got to get something from the breakfast menu after asking. The food was simply AMAZING and there were also a variety of vegan options! The staff was super friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend this to everyone:)

Thanks for a great lunch before a show at the Kings. Homemade wild garlic soup was delicious followed by smoked salmon. My elderly mum was well looked after by the very friendly owner who found a table for us although it was very busy. Will be back to try the cakes.

A lovely, calm cafe with a simple but good menu. I've tried their espresso drinks, hot chocolate, soup, baked goods, and grilled cheese, and all were delicious. Every time I come in, the owner is kind and helpful. Reasonable prices. There is always plenty of seating and good wifi, so it's the perfect quiet place to study. My only caveat is that it is very cold, so bring some warm clothes!

I have been in many incarnations of this cafe over the last few years, but Jeelie Piece (love the name!) is by far the best. The owner's homemade soup is wonderful, particularly the spiced parsnip (although sadly only available when they are in season!). The coffee is also lovely and strong and made by the owner's daughter. The previous reviewer may have liked the Purple Pig's microwaved frozen food because it was cheap, but you get what you pay for so anyone who enjoys real homemade food would do well to try Jeelie Piece.

Really nice cafe and art space in the Tollcross. The coffee was excellent and staff make you feel very welcome. I didn't have anything to eat, but the food on display looked really good. Definitely the best local option for a cafe.
