Reviews of Flip!

I've been going here on and off for over a year now, and have never been disappointed on any level. The staff are consistently lovely and mr flip himself was so immediately friendly that I thought he had me confused with someone he knew. The food itself is also great, a mix of salads, wraps and fresh smoothies made at request but, as you might've guessed, the key thing that keeps me coming back is that it's a really nice place to be. If I find myself in the area with some time to kill, I can just go grab a chair and a smoothie for a while. Recommended: chicken zeus burrito with a blueberry and banana smoothie

Friendly, healthy, reliable! Their big, tasty, made to order 'Flips' at core of the menu, £3.90 for a wrap, panini or naan with filling combos such as tex mex (good steak strips!), fajita, coronation chicken etc. Nothing greasy or stodgy here, just tasty sandwiches & variations, plus burritos, soup cakes etc. A regular lunch stop for me, sweetened by their buy 9 get one free loyalty card... Keep on Flipping!

I live in Edinburgh. I've been to lots of healthy food places, even those who don't have the word "healthy" plastered on the outside. I used to work in the food industry myself. I went in because I thought I'd give it a chance since from the outside it looks as if it's in need of an urgent refurb. The man behind the counter was busy talking to a pal/local about politics while I made my lunch choices. He was also tipping salsa out of a large wholesale bottle into a sliver bowl. It looked so cheap I could not believe he was doing it in front of me. People work for years sourcing the healthiest, organic products for their shops and cafes, finding the best produce and perfecting their healthy status. For a laugh I thought I'd still try a chicken fajita and a smoothie. The chicken fajita was only half full and most of the flavour was watered down by the lettuce he put in. I opened it up to see what was in it. My work colleagues also couldn't believe it. We could have made healthier and better fajitas at home. A tiny bit of chicken, salsa, I think cheese, sour cream and three slices of peppers that had the life sucked out of them by overcooking that was packed out by lettuce. Just because something maybe isn't that high in fat or sugar doesn't mean it is full of nutrients, wholesome or good for your health. The smoothie was made in front of me by pre-frozen fruit (probably whole-sale too) and a cheap carton of apple juice. If you really care about healthiness please ask where the food is sourced and let me know, I'd love to know for a laugh. I also used the toilet and I am really sure there was mouse **** on the floor. I asked who the owner was and it was him. He just seems like he is trying to live off talking to customers rather than serving them a decent meal. The guy sitting at a wobbly table with his coffee also seemed unimpressed. You go down the road and there is Filament Coffee and you see the thought they have put into their whole experience. I get the vibe one time it was a really good idea and it's just not worked out since he's just chose cheaper options over good ideas.

Flip markets itself as healthy fast food and offers some greats wraps, panninis, salad boxes and other quick bites. I don't get to go here as often as I'd like. I am always greeted by friendly staff who are willing to accommodate requests wherever they can. <br/><br/>On this visit I went for a 'flamin hot' chicken wrap. There are a variety of standard fillings to choose from and this was one of them. Filled with chicken, lettuce, tomato, jalapeños, raita and obviously a chilli sauce, the wrap was then pressed to seal it and warm it through. I took it back to work with me and it still fared well after a 20 minute bus ride. The wrap was delicious. The filling was generous. Yum!
