I've been meaning to try Tony Macaroni for a while as it's probably the closest restaurant within walking distance of my house. It seems most of Edinburgh West had the same thought. It was so packed at 1.30pm I could get a seat at a table right at the back half blocked in by a pillar and a pram. No matter though, being near the kitchen meant I could hear all the staff calling out orders in italian giving the whole place a great authentic atmosphere. The two waiters that served me were also both italian and very apologetic that I had to wait a few minutes to order, wanted to check I was happy with my food, and despite being super busy still had time to be pleasant and have a joke. I had rigatoni amatriciana and a sparkling water. The pasta was nicely al dente and the sauce was subtle but definitely made from scratch with plenty of depth of flavour. On reflection I probably should have ordered from their extensive and well priced lunch menu but I wanted to try the amatriciana. The friendly service and what seemed like a nice mix of authentic and standard italian dishes will definitely bring me back.
I recently got to pop along to here for their opening night. It's lovely inside and I particularly liked how you could see the kitchen from our table. The pizza was incredibly tasty and quite big too! Wood oven pizzas are always something special. My partner had pasta which he really enjoyed. Due to my pizza being so big, I had no room for pudding which was a shame. My only issue is the location isn't great for non drivers but I would go back again.
The pizzas and calamari were delicious! However the burger and fries came cold. There was only one waiter working, he was always occupied. Therefore we were left waiting a while even though our food was ready to be served.
I like this place. The pizzas are good value. I had lunch mid week and it was quite quiet. The staff are attentive and the service good. A handy meal stopover on the way into or out of the north of Edinburgh.
Nice place for lunch, very tasty food and friendly staff. We are definitely coming back 🙂
The staff was amazing. We attended today for a family meal for daughters 18th birthday. Food was amazing and my daughter was given a free cocktail as is was her birthday. The staff even brought out my daughter cake and sang happy birthday to her. The even gave my autistic daughter colouring in stuff too which was lovely to see.. thank you to all the staff for an amazing day
Had a great meal here. Huge portions of crispy calamari. Great pizzas and my wife had a really fantastic seafood pasta. Really fresh seafood in it and very authentic. Couldn't fault it. Was surprised as just went in on a whim and didn't really know what to expect.
Service not welcoming. None of the waiting staff didn't check up on any of the dishes and I have had 3 course meal. My food was done perfectely so the kitchen works great. Desserts are quite pricey, but the size of it is good for shearing. I will come back for food, not for the service...
Great food and service! Franco was our waiter, and he gave us great recommendations and was friendly fast, handsome, and efficient.
Nice place for a casual supper!
Ordered delivery from one of the nearby airport hotels. Amazing, proper italian style pizza. I ordered a basic Salami pizza and added Pepperoni and Meatballs for an additional cost per extra topping. I wish it had just a little more cheese, but I'm a cheese fiend so it's probably just right for everyone else. They appear to only have one size which is about 12-13 inches. I'd definitely order again if I'm in the area again.
Overall it was a good meal. Friendly service. Reasonable prices. Good facilities. Super fast cooking. Easy parking. I would recommend a visit for a nice bite
Excellent service... We go almost every week as we live nearby... The pizza keeps getting better 😋
