The cheeseburger was tasty and went well with the ginger beer🍺 it is alcoholic which is great since ours is normally non-alcoholic in the US. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would recommend eating here if your staying in the area.

McCowans is perfect for a cheap and tastey meal, in the perfect location before / after a cinema trip. It was quite busy when I went on a Friday night, so the food took a while to come, but when it did it was worth the wait. The fajitas were great, although messy, and had plenty of chicken & veg to fill them. My favourite by far was the waffle chicken burger - a strange concept but amazing, and perfect when drowned in maple syrup. It also came with a mountain of fries and onion rings.
The cocktails here are amazing value, and I would recommend the coca cola one !

My family and I went here for a drink and dinner for my Mum's birthday and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves and the food. It's a down to earth place with good food at reasonable prices 😊 the only thing if I had any complaints is that you have to order at the bar instead of your whole table ordering via the staff which did mean that the food came at slightly different times but that aside everyone had a great time and the food was delicious.

A popular student boozer as its on the way into the centre and offers great student discounts. McCowans offers plentiful drinks at very reasonable prices and live sports.  What I find to be its most useful feature however is its close proximity to the Cinema which allows for an excellent pre or post cinema pint.

Having a toddler and a baby this place is great if you need somewhere reasonably quiet and with pram space, easy access to baby seat if required. Service is quick and friendly and food is good for the price point.

Great place if you want to watch soccer have a drink or just want to have a pub is modern interior. The staff was very friendly and i felt welcome. The drinks were good too and the price of latte and cappuccino a bit below the average price which was also good to see. I also liked the style with the flags for the euro 2021 matches. Only thing which needed to be improved was that the table was not cleaned where I was. I can understand it because it seemed to be a busy day for the staff. I could not download the app because i have a German phone. The staff still helped me to make my order and was friendly in every way. I can recommend this place to everyone and i will definitely come back again. See you soon

The 20% off student deal is well worth getting if you can. Me and partner had a massive plate of frankly outstanding barbecue food for £20 last night. There are sports TVs everywhere so you're basically guaranteed to catch the game. The staff are super friendly too! Highly reccomended

Lovely place for a drink, lots of screens to watch sports and loads of seating upstairs and down. Good, reasonably priced, food and friendly staff, always quick service every time I've gone! A clean place, on the whole too. £1.00 pool table upstairs (one free game Tuesdays adter 6pm).

Visiting family in Edinburgh and needed a place to meet for a casual lunch with 4 young kids. Brill value for money and a family friendly pub. Had a great meal and my veggie husband was really pleased with his options too. Staff were lovely. Would definitely go back.
