Bodega Leith

Food was absolutely brilliant, we had 3 sets of tacos and two sides between two. Highly recommend the beef tacos and the tempura scallions! The mezcal margarita was incredible. Service was very friendly but I would recommend replacing the small round tables for the similar 2 seat square tables as we asked for side plates as we were sharing and were told no as our table was too small.

Book ahead as this place is often busy, and for good reason. It’s stylish and offers great tacos, plus a cocktail menu including flavoured and frozen margaritas. The black bean dip as a starter was yummy and we enjoyed all the tacos we selected. Choices included a mix of traditional Mexican and more unusual combos, like a special which had kimchi and yuzu. We’ve eaten here as a group and as pairs and it works well for both, though I’d say I enjoyed it more as a smaller group so everyone could share plates, which Bodega lends itself well to. Would be a good spot for a date night or special occasion as it feels less informal than most other restaurants in the area.

This was our first time in Bodega but will repeat! I cannot take out of my mind those sweet and crunchy chicken wings and the tempura prawn tacos, so so tasty. I was not a massive fan of the buffalo chicken sesame tacos as the sauce was bitter, but the beef BBQ were also nice. We had churros for dessert, the portion was tight for sharing, but still tasty.

We tasted 4 different tacos and they were excellent. Surprising combinations that we really enjoyed. It did take a long time for the tacos to come, but they communicated that it would take a bit longer than expected shortly after we were seated and offered a starter on the house to compensate for the wait. The waiters were very kind and the atmosphere is buzzing!

Every dish was delightful (except the ceviche which I don’t enjoy in general) guacamole was very creamy, suppose they don’t spare the avocado. the portion of taco is small so it is recommended that one person order two dishes! (at least) the toppings on taco seemed like a new combination of tastes and I liked it very much.

Fantastic tacos! I've been dying to eat here for so long and it certainly lived up to the expectation. Staff were friendly and food was swift. Would definitely recommend booking a table as even at opening time, the restaurant was packed. There are still screens between the tables, which was great given how many tables there were in the wee restaurant.
