An all round decent eating experiance. We came for lunch on a monday afternoon after visiting Edinburgh Castle. At first we were unsure if it was open as the doors were locked but were let in after ringing their phone. The menu was simple with some scottish dishes which we tried. The haggis starter was quite tasty, served in deep fried balls it wasnt greasy at all. The plate was well presented and well flavoured. For mains we had the buttered roast chicken. It came served on a bed of buttery neeps and tatties (mashed turnips and potatoes to those who dont know). It was tasty especially with the whiskey cream sauce but the tiny serving of spinach meant we had to order sides as well.
