Great place where you can get 2 pint steins, lovely friendly staff and a great choice of Jim beam highballs
Very modern sports bar with a great selection of beers from all around the world. Great for watching football and has a wee beer garden with TV also in the courtyard. No real food on offer other than half a dozen snacks which every dish seems to come with mustard for some reason. Highly recommended bar though, great place to drink with friends.
Great selection of draft and bottled beer, reasonably speedy service, comfortable seating, pool tables and a beer garden.
I was here for a birthday party on a Saturday night. Everybody had a great time especially the birthday girl who was well catered for and delighted with the choice of venue.
We had a large area reserved and it was easily able to accommodate about 15-20 people across two tables. They pride themselves on their beer selection, some of it is on draft but most comes in bottles. The prices are reasonable for the area and the atmosphere is a mix between the George street style and the more intimate vibe more common in Leith.
There is not much space for dancing but that isn't a major drawback for me personally. The beer garden is still 'coming soon' but it will be a regular haunt in the summer months.
It is a nice alternative to the George street scene in the same part of town and I am sure I'll be back in the near future.
Sports bar serving beer, with a darts and a pool table; no skittles though, what's that all about? :)
It's a funky basement bar, with lots of TVs and can show two different games at once. You can book booths, and they also have tables in the middle. The booth directly to the left of the bar as you face it gives the best views of a few different TVs. They have a selection of bar snacks (almost tapas style, which are OK, but a bit disappointing). They do beer versions of cocktails, but apparently are going to be doing proper cocktails soon. Great beer garden area.
I went there a few nights ago with some friends and was pleasantly surprised how relaxed but well presented this bar was. It is downstairs but feels like a classy relaxed club but it is defiantly bar. They have a wide range of activities from darts, pool, board games and a retro games table where you try some pac man or donkey kong! Tad pricey for the wine but i suppose beer is there way forward. Worth heading too and the staff are very friendly and attentive.
Decent selection of beers. Would say it was $$-$$$. Free pool table in the corner, which is a little cramped but a nice addition. Feel like it's struggling to figure out it's identity, an odd cross between a dive bar, a sports bar and an after work spot. Clientele always mixed which is nice. Food is spot on. Located underneath STK restaurant, for those who cannot find it. Enter through main entrance.
American style sports bar with huge beer selection, dart boards and big screen TV's. They have a great courtyard which is perfect on a summers day with a cold beer. Checking in on Facebook gets you a pitcher of beer for £10. It's a busy place but there's plenty of seating and you can reserve tables if you're coming in a large group or for an occasion. The only problem is knowing which beer to chose!
Awesome range of beers and definitely the best venue I'm Edinburgh for watching sports!
Fantastic evening for the Superbowl. Staff were friendly and provided a high level of customer service throughout the busy evening. Food was also at a very high level and matched the alcohol and soft drinks for a very reasonable price. Highly recommend the venue, staff and management.
Great place to watch sport... Can get noisy (well, it would). Loads of tellies. Decent size. Well positioned.
Drinks are fine, uptown prices. Food untried, but burgers, nachos and the like...
Went here on a Thursday evening. A relatively nice and stylish bar although the decor is just a tad bit generic- although I suppose it's preferable to those awful hipster bars/pubs which look like a crap pastiche of a farmyard.
It's quite pricey; £9.75 for two pints of beer, but then I guess it is Edinburgh and it is 2016 so maybe I shouldn't be so surprised.
Most people can't wait to run away from their place of work but I like to linger here. I come every friday night to take photos of the fun and chat with people to see what they think of the bar, how they found it etc. There's a (free) pool table, darts board and enough beers to keep you happy all night. Staff are friendly and hard working. Popcorn seems to be a hit with regulars too. Try it out x
Good for watching sport- plenty of big screens. Decent selection of beer on tap. Can feel quite cramped when busy. Lots of seating.
Hidden away underneath a steak restaurant but a nice venue. American sports bar theme, good selection of beers, pool tables in the back and a pub quiz on a Monday. Which we won😎
Beer & Skittles is a decent place, the free pool table is a particular highlight and they have an almost incomprehensibly great range of beers. There's also live sport on a vast number of screens all around the bar and there are lots of great booths to sit in. If that's what you're after, Beer & Skittles is a great shout. Where I think it falls down is that it only really specialises in beer, and struggles hugely on the wine and spirits front. So for example, my girlfriend and I have been a couple of times but probably wouldn't go together again because she doesn't drink beer, and so isn't really catered for. The double amaretto and soda that she bought cost almost as much as a whole bottle of amaretto in a supermarket! So yes, if you're out with sport-loving beer-drinkers, it's hard to go wrong. Otherwise, I'd look elsewhere.
