The Bier Keller Picardy Place

Decent selection of beers. Would say it was $$-$$$. Free pool table in the corner, which is a little cramped but a nice addition. Feel like it's struggling to figure out it's identity, an odd cross between a dive bar, a sports bar and an after work spot. Clientele always mixed which is nice. Food is spot on. Located underneath STK restaurant, for those who cannot find it. Enter through main entrance.

Went here on a Thursday evening. A relatively nice and stylish bar although the decor is just a tad bit generic- although I suppose it's preferable to those awful hipster bars/pubs which look like a crap pastiche of a farmyard. It's quite pricey; £9.75 for two pints of beer, but then I guess it is Edinburgh and it is 2016 so maybe I shouldn't be so surprised.

American style sports bar with huge beer selection, dart boards and big screen TV's. They have a great courtyard which is perfect on a summers day with a cold beer. Checking in on Facebook gets you a pitcher of beer for £10. It's a busy place but there's plenty of seating and you can reserve tables if you're coming in a large group or for an occasion. The only problem is knowing which beer to chose!

Sports bar serving beer, with a darts and a pool table; no skittles though, what's that all about? :) It's a funky basement bar, with lots of TVs and can show two different games at once. You can book booths, and they also have tables in the middle. The booth directly to the left of the bar as you face it gives the best views of a few different TVs. They have a selection of bar snacks (almost tapas style, which are OK, but a bit disappointing). They do beer versions of cocktails, but apparently are going to be doing proper cocktails soon. Great beer garden area.
