This place amazing. Small menu with top quality ingredients. Our waiter was super helpful and friendly. Impressive wine card. We’ll definitely be back!
Was recommend this charming restaurant with a short walk away from the Edinburgh castle. The sourdough bread was so soft and delicious that I forgot to take a photo of it. Had the pasta as the main course and it was so fresh that I’m happy to admit that it was one of the best I ever had. The atmosphere of the friendly is cosy and the staff are friendly and engaging. Highly recommend and will definitely return when I’m in Edinburgh the next time! 😎
Delicious dinner and just recognized that their menu changed almost everyday. Their sourdough was one of the best we ever had. Sour with the best crunchy crust. Ox heart was just outstanding and the desserts were perfect.
Located at the corner so quite easy to find. Staffs were helpful. Foods were delicious, although the portion size was quite small.
BTW, the pork skin snack costed 4 GBP and looked quite expensive for us.
Excellent meal for two in relaxing bistro style setting. The service was friendly, effective and unobtrusive. Food was excellent, beautifully cooked, and served in generous portions. The wine was good quality and not too heavy on the price. Nearly ordered another portion of the almond tart as it was so good!
Stumbled across this hidden gem of a bakery/ cafe. An amazing selection of artisan bread and pastries. Good coffee too. Amazing location and well worth a visit.
Amazing food in a glorious old building with excellent service and a great menu. Highly recommended
Delicious food. The sourdough is the best you’ll ever have! Chewy and sour with the best crunchy crust. Ox heart was just outstanding and the desserts were perfect - would have had thirds of the trifle.
The amazing quality of the textures in both the dough and the fillings is truly remarkable. We loved this place!!
Great experience on a Sunday afternoon at The Palmerston. Busy that day with couples and groups. Staff certainly kept busy!
Food was great. Full of flavour and hearty. Just what we needed on a cold wet day (hey it's Edinburgh). Meat courses in particular were the stand out. Dessert for us the weakest.
Word of warning. My initial 3 choices for each course had sold out! But there was enough range in the menu to substitute.
Overall, worth a visit...just make sure you get there early.
My visit was brief, as I only stopped in for coffee and cakes, but I was immediately impressed by the look and feel of the place. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with tasteful decor and comfortable seating areas. The coffee was outstanding, with a rich and full-bodied flavour that hit all the right notes. And the selection of pastries was lovely, with a range of options to suit all tastes and preferences.
