This is the best Japanese street food I've ever had! I've had it many times. It's open late every day, perfect for a late night snack.

We visited here twice a day!! My kids love his food!! It is the best chicken in Edinburgh. Highly recommend! They'd love Kobayashi dog also! The owner gave free two pocketmon ball cookies and pocketmon cards for my kids. Very generous service!!

My 3rd time here for takeaway 🥡 not sure if the chef heard that it was my friend’s birthday or something, but we were so surprised to see the free fried upon opening the bag! The karaage is absolutely phenomenal. My Japanese friend couldn’t praise enough of its thin crunchy batter and tender succulent chicken! Beats any karaage served at restaurants!

Kaptain Karaage surreptitiously hides itself at the small corner at W tollcross offering the famous takeaway chicken karaage and others The owner is very friendly and the food is pretty quick. I taste the first bite there and it’s impressively crispy and the seasonings add flavour to the next level. The crispy fries there taste also great as well As it’s only takeaway menu when I arrive back to my place to enjoy the rest, the fries easily become soggy and stale. The chicken is still in great condition. please taste some when it serves hot I think you will love it.

Don't judge a book by its cover! This small and simple looking food container serves flavorful meals that definitely can hold their weight against other more popular restaurants. Chicken kaarage - crispy deep fried boneless chicken drizzled with a mix of sauces! Furikkake fries - that furikkake mix/ seasoning he uses needs to be commercialized and sold at every grocery store. Would buy it in a heart beat!! We ordered the large portion that was enough for 2 people. What an experience it was to turn off a main road at 9pm and be greeted by this anime sticker deco-ed container. The owner was very hospitable and explained his business and future plans with us. He even promoted the food containers next to him. Can't wait to revisit this place!!

Highly recommend!! This is the most delicious fried chicken and fries I’ve ever had. Btw the lemon and pickled radish are the best pairing with fried chicken that neutralise the deep-frying perfectly! Please have a try otherwise you’ll miss the authentic and perfect food. 😎🤩

I ordered the karaage chicken and it was sooo tasty! The batter was crispy and light with perfect seasoning and flavours, and good portion size. The chef was super friendly and service was really quick. Definitely will be coming back again!

Karaage chicken is lit! Highly recommend! I’d say the most authentic East Asian flavoured fried chicken so far in Edinburgh, as a Chinese. New, cozy, hospitable and international. Love here, you have to try

Chicken succulent every time, coating always crispy and never greasy, house sauces delicious, fries seasoned to perfection and portions very generous. Owner provides efficient and friendly service even when really busy.

The food was amazing! And the service was even better. He split our order that we were sharing into two containers for us and gave us a bag to carry everything. Our order was so big we even had food for the next day! And the leftovers still tasted amazing! I wish this place was a franchise and I could get more in the states!
