The Counting House has recently had its main, upper room floor redone. To dance is smoother now by comparison to how the floor was previously. (Know that the dancefloor was good before, now it's feel underfoot has improved yet further.)
How clean and well-swept the floor is will impact on how it affects the dancers' movements l. For example the ease with which a dancer pivots (rotates on the ball of the foot) is affected by the condition of the floor surface.
Hilarious! I watched the "101 Psychos: Mentally Ill Folks Telling Jokes" show by one group for the Fringe Festival.

We have met The Counting House thanks to a Ceilidh event organised by Annasach Ceilidh Band, and it has been superb! Good music, affordable price for drinks, and different areas to drink, dance and have a chat. 100% recommended!
Great venue which hosts the Laughing Horse free comedy events during the Fringe. Been here every year for many years, and the staff is very helpful throughout the venue. Also, the venue manager, Brian, is great fun and a really nice guy, with the most amazing singing voice. If you're standing in the queue when he's at the door, just hope he starts belting some tunes out.

Great place to hang out and enjoy yourself, especially in the Fringe with some fantastic shows on through the day. If you can catch either Olaf Falafel in his show, or the late adult circus show DTCB, definitely do so.
Conducted a wedding here. Beautiful building, extremely nice staff. Hope to be back again soon.
Nice period function room with a bar. Also can provide hot food. Nice glass rotunda in the cieling. About 20 mins easy walk from the Waverly past beautiful buildings.
Counting house was slow today. With the fringe in full swing and a rugby match on it was hard to exprctanything else. But our server told us it would be slow but promiesed our coffee would be quick and it was. Food was worth the wait. My poached eggs and bacon with toasted bread was spot on. Disnt want to lick my plate but only because i was in public.
