Must visit place if you need a quite day from the busy schedule. The drive is fine all the way and it's close to Consett if we need to buy anything. Wow! I live in Dorset, I visited Pow Hill last week for the first time. The is agricultural work being done but this place was still very stunning and a great walk. Highly recommended for all the family any weather and for any outdoorsy occasion.
Lovely rewilded colliery, with diversity of habitat and lots of Birdlip. Lovely quiet place to watch birds (and rodents!) on feeders. Easy parking and good tea van at the weekend 😊
Lovely place to visit and walk around the reservoir or this country park with all the changes of seeing a Red Squirrels. Now in August with great new signage and notice boards around the site . But the car parking getting to look like its for a town not the countryside
I have a feeling this is going to be turned into a paid car park which would spoil my visit there completely. And force me to park elsewhere But for now what a beautiful place
Stunning place. Ample free parking. The most glorious views. Walk round the reservoir is flat, with plenty seating for pit stops. Relaxing day out.
