Came to fables for breakfast for the first time. Was waiting a while but don't let it put you off as its worth the wait! Nice to see a place do so well! Food was amazing, best cooked breakfast and ice coffee had by both of us! 10/10 can't wait to come back

Lovely eggs benedicts with fresh smoked salmon was delicious. My husband had Poached Apple pancakes which were also amazing. Portion sizes are very generous! Great value.

Having visited multiple time we were not disappointed. Had the vegetarian breakfast and it was superb. Really good portions and very high quality ingredients. Often can be difficult to get good breakfasts. Loved it! Service was fantastic as well (Jenny) and the venue itself is really well maintained and lovely to be in.

Lovely converted old library with seating outside for dog owners . Some tables have large parasols ( ideal for inclement weather ). Dominic , our server was courteous and very friendly ( advising us of a forty minute wait for food service ), which only turned out to be fifteen minutes. Chose the Ploughman’s Sandwich , a super twist on the conventional ploughman’s - pulled ham hock with salad leaves , tomato’s, cheese and a delicious chutney. Accompanied with a mini pork pie, ramekin of pickle onions, homemade Apple coleslaw , and large seasoned potato wedges . Good value for money and ideal for a lunch time meal . Service was excellent , and managed to get a table as other diners left ( was quite busy for a Saturday afternoon- not sure if booking is judicious, especially if you want to sit inside ). Overall We enjoyed our meal and the service we received.

Pancakes are out of this world, eggs Benedict was very generous with the smoked salmon. Service is very friendly! Wait times are absolutely worth it considering the quality of the food.

If you're looking for a "grab and go" breakfast, this is not the place for you. Big cities would describe this as an eating experience. The inside is bright and clean with seating for about 50. There's also an outside patio with further seating. The service is welcoming and friendly. Nothing is rushed. The food is cooked to order, the menu makes you aware of a potential delay, but that just gives you more time to enjoy your drink and take in the decor (on one wall is a bookshelf, another advertises local coffee beans). The back of the menu says The Fables can be hired for private events and I envisage evenings of book signings or poetry readings The wait for food is worth it. The full English is delicious and well portioned, if there had been any more I would have been looking for a nearby bench to nap it off. I particularly liked the addition of spinach to the mix, and those BBQ beans should come with a warning. Just as we were leaving, I witnessed an eggs Benedict being served and now I have to come back.

Fables is a beautiful coffee shop/restaurant with great choices for food and drink. The latte was lovely and ‘The Eggs our Way’ was one of the best brunches I’ve had for a while; all for a great price. The staff are very friendly too. I 100% recommend this place!

Awesome place to sit and enjoy Robin Hood vibe. A few minutes walk from the Sherwood Forest visitor center, Fables is a great place to visit for coffee and pastries while exploring the village. Friendly service but high prices.

Fabulous breakfast and lovely staff. The toilets are immaculate with baby changing facilities. I had my car in for a service so was a great option to kill the time whilst I waited. Will definitely return.
