Atmosphere, friendliness, service, food, wine all get a 5/5 from us. Absolutely delicious vegan menu. I would highly recommend a visit. They new exactly what drinks were vegan too, so we had confidence in everything we had, and were able to relax and enjoy.
Had a wonderful celebration meal at The Mermaid yesterday. Such a hidden treasure. The food is innovative and will blow your mind, not to mention your taste buds. Staff are lovely, nothing is too much trouble and the Chef even came to see us, to ask us if we enjoyed our meal. So worth a visit
Lovely midweek meet up with friends.
Great menu, not too expensive. The steak was really tasty and not expensive like many gastro pubs. The service was great, a lovely atmosphere.
Nice to see so many people out on a Wednesday night.
We will be back !
Lovely little pub/restaurant. We have been a regular at the sister pub in Perry for years.
The Mermaid has a great menu full of classics and the quality of ingredients is noticeable! Lots of fresh fish and meat. An intimate restaurant with friendly staff and cosy atmosphere. We will definitely return!
Went for an evening out and was highly impressed. Waitresses knowledgeable and friendly. Food excellent and way above 'pub grub'.
A busy restaurant is always a good sign and yet service was fast and efficient.
Well done The Mermaid. Recommended
Decent sandwiches (though I’d recommend you ask them specifically to make it with butter…) Decent beer. OK coffee. Decor feels a bit odd. I can imagine this was a wonderful local pub once but it feels a characterless now. Lovely staff and managers and locals were very friendly. Lots of suits and nice dresses, so I felt a bit underdressed. Entirely my fault for slobbing around in shorts and T-shirt! Overall, a nice village food-focused pub with a pleasant atmosphere.
Stopped by the pub before the Peterborough Cambridge EFL trophy tie. Really is exactly what I needed it to be for me; bunch of locals, on the piss, pregaming, and being rowdy. Hot dog and chips were delicious. Not a romantic spot but a genuine hometown hometeam pub. Excellent service!
Enjoyable Sunday roast at this olde-worlde pub just a few seconds off the A14. The rump beef was excellent - juicy and tasty. Good service from the waitresses too. Colourful and well-maintained hanging baskets outside.
Lovely village pub close enough to the A14 to be an easy lunch stop. We had chicken tikka masala and a burger and they were both well-cooked and delicious.
The service was friendly and welcoming.
If I lived nearby, this would be a perfect ’local’.
Actually, I love this building, you need to be aware of the low ceiling and the beams, but the atmosphere is just wonderful. The staff were lovely and the food was nice. It's in the heart of a very small village and has been closed for a while,so it was good news when it opened again after all the problems COVID caused. The management have a great reputation and this is another success.
We stopped off at this lovely village pub on our way home after a visit to London . We had crispy beef and Lemon Sole and they were both delicious and big portions .
The service was excellent, friendly and welcoming.
Went for Sunday lunch after it getting recommended, and it was very nice, and quick service, will definitely go back 👌
