We have passed this place countless times, and on Sunday, we finally visited. Big free car park. There is no entry charge for the house, which is worth a look inside. The small farm has a £3 entry charge. Gardens were nice with some unusual plants and perfumed roses. Nice grounds with many people having picnics. There is a tea room with limited items. 2 and a half hours well spent.
I attended a wedding here, in the small function hall. I have to say that the staff were incredibly helpful all evening, even though they were clearly working very hard, fast paced all evening. Always had a smile on their face and that really went a long way to helping the guests have a lovely evening.
The building itself and the grounds were imprrssive and very well kept, on such a hot day as it was, walking around the grounds in the evening was a pleasant escape from the heat.
Absolutely stunning place for a weekend walk, gorgeous natural heritage trails. There is a lake and the streams make it a beautiful place to catch some fresh air and rewind. If you want to have a picnic the beautiful gardens are ideal for this. There are also so many events happening at Forty Hill throughout the year, so make sure you get your tickets in advance.
Forty Hall Estate, from the 13th century and beyond, this place is filled with history. You can roam around its well kept grounds, taking in the lush green scenery of this place. There's free parking (I hope they don't change this) with ample space, a small children's play area, vast amount of picnic spaces and benches to just sit, chill talk and take things at a slower pace. With all the hustle and bustle around London, this place offers the opportunity to stop, at least for a little while, and just get lost in the natural environment. We went when the historic house was closed, so check their website for when it's open. It's a visit we'll worth it! You will enjoy.
A lovely autumn walk around the estates.
Fantastic place to visit for a long walk around the leafy grounds. There is a 2 mile signed walking path from the carpark around the grounds ending back at the house.
Adjoining to Forty Hall is the walled Garden, Court yard cafe, farm shop & duck pond.
Good parking.
Lovely estate to go for a picnic on the ground on a sunny day or visit the cafe /farm shop for a family day out.
The walled garden this time of year is absolutely stunning. It was filled of Sakura/ cherry blossoms and stunning magnolias. Highly recommended to go.
Very picturesque.
Beautiful place massive grounds and gardens and all free I'd been there before but didn't realise it was so big
Great place for walks in the countryside despite being near London. Free parking too.
Had a lovely peaceful walk around the estate on a weekday afternoon. Nice courtyard café open for refreshments.
