First time trying Hunts Point BBQ and the last time. Placed a rather large order over the phone for pick up. Paid by credit card at the time of ordering. The total sounded a little high but didn’t thick much of it at the time. After getting home with the food I had a chance to look at the receipt. They took the liberty of adding a gratuity of $24.45 without my permission. Mind you this was a take out order not dine in. And they overcharged me $14 for a 16 oz side of baked beans that was clearly marked $9 on their online menu. I called the restaurant, spoke to a lady that answered and explained the overcharges. She claimed there is a large sign in the restaurant stating there is an added tip automatically added to bills over $100. I explained I ordered over the phone and prepaid by credit card at the time of the order and nobody mentioned a mandatory tip. She took my name/number and said the manager would call me right back. Still waiting for that call. What a shady operation. And to top it all off the food was so so. Very shady. Never again. And as for the business’s reply of this being a “fake review” as they are closed on Tuesdays one can clear see the date on the receipt as being 4/15/22 a Friday and yes they were open.

Haven't even tried the food yet so I cannot comment on that but when inside to order take out and found the person that took our order to be very rude and condescending. I guess your fine as long ad you have no questions on the menu. Its really to bad because no matter how good the food is I will never go back as I was insulted at the time of ordering.
