Pegottys Fish And Chips

This is THE best fish and chips we have ever had. I never write reviews but Peggotty's is just the best out of everywhere, ever! The chips are freshly fried and cod is always golden and crispy and we all agree it's the best we have ever eaten, even in luxury restaurants! Always go for the mushy peas and even the veggie burger is always cooked perfectly too. We choose to get takeaway from here over going out sometimes as it's just so good. Very friendly and super efficient staff. Also love the makeover inside too. Always busy!

UPDATE: We have been back at least six times since this was first written. I stand by the original report below. Excellent fish and chips. Large portions. Realised they also make Southern Fried Chicken pieces so may try that out as well. First rate shop and food. First time user. Won't be the last. Don't really buy fish and chips. But having lived in Epping for 7 years, decided to give them a bash. Very impressed. The portions were huge. Ordered 4 large chips and three pieces of fish. The three adults shared two chips and had a piece of fish each. Landed up there were two full meals there (supper and another supper). Four children shared two portions of chips again with two servings there. So effectively two full meals on both counts. The fish (cod and haddock) were fresh and tasty with the cod being the preference. The chips were amazing. The front desk guy was lovely and chatty. Two caveats though. The first is they only accept cash. Didn't know this and had to walk to the nearby ATM at Tesco (60 seconds) whilst they got everything ready. The second is parking is not always available. You could possibly double park but just so you are aware. Otherwise, highly recommended and will certainly use them again.

Have been regular customers for over 15 years. Reliably EXCELLENT fish and chips with first rate customer care preparing all meals to individual requirements. Service is always friendly and the shop is never less than immaculately clean. A recent refurb has made dining in or waiting for your take even more pleasant.

Since I was a young boy I can always remember this place, amazing service amazing staff and today these values of quality food and excellent service have not changed, adapting their menu to suit the needs of the customer and having a dynamic full time staff always on hand to provide each meal as if it were there own, this is by far, by a mile the best place to eat for a quick lunch or an even better Friday night fish and chips.
