Clearly a very popular option, and with the quality of food and atmosphere, I'm not surprised. Just some patchy service, which was probably more the result of being busy as opposed to not being good.
Sunday roasts, including the vegetarian option, were great, as was the fish sharer.
Dogs are welcome outside & in the bar area, but not the restaurant.

This is our 4th or 5th visit. We usually come here, as yesterday, to celebrate various family birthdays. We're a fussy lot and have been to many venues in and around Surrey over the last few years but we keep returning here as it comes up trumps each time.
Price wise it's comparable to most of it's kind in the area but we've had very mixed experiences in other venues in terms of quality of food, menu content and service.
We always have great service, -I didn't get the name of our server yesterday (could have been Kerry) but she was really attentive and cheerful, with a great sense of humour and all our requests (plates and cutlery for our BYO cake, doggy bags, remainder of cake to be divided up and packaged) were met with good grace. We'll be back !

A visit for my son's birthday Friday 27th October 2023....the starters were a good portions and looked so fresh and colourful, likewise the mains...the best meal out in a very long time, Excellent!

I booked the private room for a Sunday afternoon for 21 people - including 11 children. We pre ordered our food 4 days before but kept making changes to the order via email. The staff were brilliant at responding to the emails. Zee looked after us on the day and the service we received from her was exceptional. She was brilliant with the kids and so attentive with us even though the pub was so busy. All the food was delicious and really well presented especially the roast. We were so impressed and will definitely be back. Thank you so much for a wonderful time.

Lovely pub, looks bigger on the outside, but I bet in the summer the outside is packed. When there was something missing from the platter they ordered they immediately offered to replace it with something else. Was good service.

The Wheatsheaf is now my default choice when meeting friends in Esher. We always struggle to choose from the menu because there are too many good choices and food is always delicious. The staff are professional but at the same time really down to earth (they seem like they genuinely enjoy working there which is rare in many places these days) and that creates a really lovely relaxed atmosphere. The ambience inside is great and the seating comfortable - really can’t fault it. Well done to the managers as they have the whole experience spot on!

Great service and atmosphere! But had a roast and the food was a real let down. Pork was really tough, potato’s were hard and not crispy, small ball of stuffing which tasted frozen. Also didn’t get crackling but as I was leaving saw other tables with it? Shouldn’t have to ask for it. Staff were very attentive and lovely though which makes it better.

We chose Wheatsheaf for the venue of my friends 30th Surprise party. I cannot put into words how amazing the venue and the service was. Poor Mischa had to deal with my none stop emails and on the day she had made my vision come to life. The private room was all prepared for us and the food and drinks came exactly on time. On the day Dan was also there to help. He constantly came to check on us and made all our demand come true. The room was honestly perfection and fantastic for any private hire. We felt like we are at home. The food was so delicious and all the drinks were flowing. All the guests had the best time and kept commenting on the great venue and food. I cannot thank the team enough for helping us out with this event. I will million percent be using the Wheatsheaf for any future events we may have.
