Delightful little cafe and a shop with indoor and outdoor seating. Obviously, we tried their unique to region, Singing Hinnie, which is looks a large soft bun accompanied by clotted cream and jam. It was nice for a change from the scone. We also tried their little quiche with salad, which was nice, too. And of course, just to be decadent, we had their special fruit tart which was rich. Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff, and a quirky little shop. It is located in the beautiful Etal village, very close to the castle and the forge.
What a superb place, as you I’ll see by the number of people using the facilities. We love to drop in for a breakfast roll. The owners and all their staff are so friendly and professional. The place is spotlessly clean. Food is of the best quality and very reasonably priced. Service, regardless of if you’re eating in or out, buying gifts or supplies or even using the Postal services, is fantastic. Well done Victoria and Richard. You’re a credit to the Village and the surrounding area. You’ve been a gem to us.
Just stopped to have a coffee but wished I had stayed a bit longer for lunchtime. Clean, bright with friendly staff. A great selection of coffee & teas & a lovely menu for a bite of lunch or cream tea. A little haven, with plants & baked goods for sale along with some lovely gifts. A lovely garden to sit outside too. Definitely would make it a stop next time in area.
Really lovely place. Immaculate and very well organised. I actually took a picture of the stacked shelves as it was a thing of beauty!
Beautiful village location. With shop and post office. We were very impressed
Great tea room in an idyllic Northumberland village.
Cycle friendly
Seating inside and out and take away coffee etc
Provides local products food and crafts. It’s a post office too
Coffee is great
At the tea room for Halloween today. The tea room and village getting into spirit of it 🎃
We had a magical afternoon tea in the warm sun. All the food was freshly made. And the service was prompt . Highly recommended. Toilets were a secret wonder! Great prices too
Lovely little tea room, the coffee and fruit scones were awesome (warm and fresh too!) As well as the biggest tea cakes I've ever seen. Perfectly accommodating for larger families as their seating area has large tables.
This is one of those places where you arrive thinking you just need a place to grab a drink and a piece of cake or something to nibble and you'll be done. However I have to give extra credit to Lavender Tea Rooms and the owners, this place was spotlessly clean, well laid out, everything was displayed clearly and everything looked very inviting. It might sound strange, but I must also mention the toilets. They were kept really clean and unlike 99% of places they were actually a pleasure to use (?!). The staff were all really pleasant and I certainly got the feeling that everyone was trying to make sure that they were delivering the best possible service they could. For me this is a treat of a place and I wish I was able to go every day, but seeing as I can't, I would recommend that you give it a try when you're in this neck of the woods. Totally recommended.
Popped in for a pot of tea in the garden. The teapots are photogenically multicoloured. This place sells plants, guidebooks and souvenirs along with snacks, cakes and drinks. The friendliness of the staff and pretty surrounding buildings, including a thatched pub and free-to-visit castle made visiting worthwhile.
Lovely tearooms and the food was great. They had no problem accommodating a group of ten as a walk-in.
