Combines your best pub with your best restaurant Exceptional food, friendly service. 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A must visit. We eat here regularly and highly recommend.
Found this gem whilst out for a drive in the Warwickshire countryside in March 2017. Made a small detour for lunch on my way to the Genting Arena to a Take That concert yesterday with my daughter. She was as impressed as I had been on my first visit. Once again the staff and service was excellent. As it was a sunny afternoon we ate in the garden. We had sharing platter to start followed by rib eye steak. Will definitely be returning.
🥚 The Chequers Inn, Ettington

@thechequersinnettington has launched their (let’s not beat around the bush) fantastic winter menu. The Chequers Inn chef is amazing and has produced some of the best tasting food I have eaten at a country pub.

We were invited to check out the menu on Wednesday evening. These are the starters we had to kick off the three courses. 😁

We went for the Pork and Black Pudding Scotch Egg and the Pan Fried Mackerel Fillet and Sweet Potato Puree. The starters tasted great, the Scotch Egg was particularly amazing as I do love black pudding 😍

The decor was still fantastic @spencerswinden and I can’t wait for @thechequersinnettington to lite their log burner. Everyone should definitely make a visit to The Chequers Inn.
We arrived family heavy with 7 adults and 5 lively children to be warmly welcomed and treated to sumptuous food. Thoroughly recommend their hospitality and service.
We visited the chequers inn today, the place is situated on the main road and parking is free. The bar and restaurant have ample space and the tables were well set out. The staff were just brilliant, we order food and when it arrived it was freshly cooked and totally delicious. None of the food tasted processed it’s was all of high quality and very reasonably priced. There was a huge range of largers, IPA’s and soft drinks. I can’t rave about this place enough it’s a perfect go see if your in the area. Just the perfect place in our view.

The Chequers has been taken over by new owners in the past few months. My partner and I have lived in the village for a few years, but have opted to travel to pubs in neighbouring villages up to now as the Chequers has always felt a bit pretentious and not so much a pub for locals. Having heard about the new ownership, we popped down for a drink a few weeks ago and were very pleasantly surprised to note the change of atmosphere - there were more locals, the new owners came across as genuinely welcoming and friendly, and it was a relief to see a change to the previously unchanging supply of drinks on tap and behind the bar. The food had been very expensive in the past for very small portions and not that great a quality, but wanting to see if there had been any changes to that, we tried a couple of bar snacks last week and food from the main menu last night - blimey has this place improved!! The crispy batted king prawns on the bar snack menu just melted in the mouth, I love the fact they don't charge for bread, oil and vinegar if you just want something to nibble on with a drink, and the confit duck with dauphinoise potatoes that I had last night was worth every penny. Decent portions, delicious puddings and cheese board...I can't find any fault with any of it. Not the cheapest but definitely worth a visit. Looking forward to popping down for prosecco happy hour Thurs/Friday!
We were visiting the area and booked a meal here for six people. All the staff were super friendly. The food was good quality and reasonably priced. It was a late dinner & I think they kept the kitchen open a little bit later for us so we could have desserts.
Very nice roast on Sunday. Beef is cooked a little rare for my liking but there was plenty of it and the service was impeccable.
Nice place, outside area looked nice too, i can imagine it's lovely in the evening with all the lights, had some pods and covered areas too. We turned up as a party of 8 and they managed to seat us straight away, the service was good, efficient and friendly, good quality food across the board , between us we had a selection of starters, main meals and children's food. Dog friendly, would definitely go back.
Such a wonderful atmosphere, lovely decor and even nicer food! The staff were delightful as always, special mention to a Paul and Amy for being so warming, they are a credit to themselves, I’d recommend Amy as your server for Guinness, she always does a beautiful shamrock :) can’t wait till the next chequers engraver! Would 11/10 recommend!
Very smiley team of staff, really nice roast dinners and additional menu items offered on a Sunday if you don’t fancy a roast. Lovely Tempranillo wine. Will definitely come back.
Just popped in for a quick drink, but will definitely return for something to eat in the garden.
