Eat The Bird

Popped in for some lunch after hearing a lot of hype around Eat the Bird, the hype was more than justified! The food is next level the menu is full of insane flavourful dishes, the staff are welcoming and friendly and very helpful. If you like chicken and love burgers eat the bird is the place for you. I will be making it my new eat out weekly hot spot.

We were staying near to Exeter for the week and decided to head in to the city. We found Eat the Bird online and booked it straight away!! Amazing food. As the men in our group said and I quote “the best wings they have ever had” they loved the shaved blue cheese on top of the buffalo wings said it was different from other buffalo wings they have had. The burgers were tasty, fries delicious!! Basically everything was spot on 🤌🏼🫶🏼

Seen these guys online and at wing festivals so while I was in Exeter I had to give them a try. Went for buffalo chicken wings, Cheesy louisiana fries and the extreme hot strips. The buffalo is the tastiest buffalo wing I've ever had. The addition of actual blue cheese on top makes all the flavours absolutely pop. The louisiana fries were so moreish, even when stuffed I wanted to keep eating the sauce. The extreme strips were so tasty. A warning from the staff and a second warning about the heat weren't enough to put me off. These strips were so tasty but very HOT. Listen to the staff if you think about ordering them! Ben and Joel were both in there today and both were top blokes. Good chat with them today, advised about other places around town and even booked me back in when I'm next in Exeter. 100% you should come and eat here if nearby.

I've been to various restaurants that pride themselves in trendy underdog style and good chicken, Chick'n'Sours (London), Hub Box (Plymouth), Kickin' Caribou (Plymouth). While I can say the atmosphere is probably most similar to Hub Box, I can confidently say that the burgers here set a bar twice as higher for the aforementioned. Ordered "The Furlough" with fries and both were absolutely exceptional from a sauce and flavour balance perspective, I wasn't left wanting and it wasn't as fatty as one may expect. Also ordered their hard lemonade cocktail, and found that to be no slouch either (not too sweet or citrusy!). Will very likely swing by here again, many thanks to Eddie for serving us and lending a chill experience. Don't sleep on this burger joint!
