This is a great family pub with unbelievable service
I had family from abroad that wanted to eat British food
And the staff went out of there way to make it special for us !
All fresh food ,tv, high chair and all the meals came out at the same time for 9 people
Really really good
I have eaten in a lot of places in Exeter for alot more money and im telling you this is one of the best British pub lunches I have eaten in Exeter

Thank you clifton Inn
Can't fault this place! Delicious food, all homemade, great atmosphere and friendly and attentive staff! There are two pool tables as well which are very well maintained compared to most. I'm a regular visitor to this pub and would definitely recommend it to others!
Nice place. Very nice chef. Not too noisy although there are a couple of TVs. Full menu not available but still something to choose from. I had a nice basic vegetarian meal.
Sunday Carvery was really lovely. Lots of choice of meats and veg.
Liked the fact that there were two sizes. Pre-booking advised, but we were walk-ins. Friendly staff.
We will be back. 😊
Great pub friendly service but didn't eat there
Really nice pub, chris the landlord has taken over recently, and has mate a great area to relax and enjoy your visit, will visit again.
Great pub/cafe/bakery. This breakfast pie served with hash browns, fried egg and lovely fresh bread is a delight. The pie and the bread are made on site and from scratch and it was crammed full of sausage, bacon, tomato, beans and mushroom. The pastry is a really excellent short crust that is slightly crumbly but neither soggy or dry.
The pub itself its quite recently renovated, the proprietors are very friendly and rightly proud of their fare and it manages to pull off the slightly surreal combination of pub and bakery (you can buy cakes, bread and pastries from the bakery counter).
I'll be going back to try the dinner pies and also the all-you-can-eat breakfast on Friday mornings for around £7.
A great pub, 3 minute walk from Jury's Inn. Huge. Very welcoming & easy-going staff. Good music played in background. Amazing "fish n chips" meal for £8,35. (See photo). Homemade batter. Excellent tarter sauce.
Friendly patrons. Thank you, Clifton Inn! Thanx to the chef!
Really good Sunday carvery. Great selection of veg etc, all nicely cooked and interesting rather than just bland boiled stuff like you get at a lot of carveries. Can choose two out of four meat options and several vegetarian choices too, everything was really well cooked and tasty. Roast potatoes were great too which is one of the hardest things to do well on a carvery. I live nearby so definitely need to come here more and will do in future. Have also had the pies here which are just as good as the roast!
Great pies. Decent drink options and prices. Shame full menu isn't available at busy times e.g. Saturdays and during football
The staff here are so lovely. We came for lunch and had the steak and Guinness and steak and blue cheese pies with chips, peas and gravy. Everything was delicious and all homemade! We took some bread and cakes home from the on-site bakery too. Added bonus was how clean and welcoming everything was. Can't wait to come back
Just called in for drinks so can't comment on rooms nor food.
Nice sized pub with a good range of beers at an average price.
Nicely decorated and lots of tables.
Highly recommended amongst the usual town pubs.
