Not your run-of-the-mill fish & chips here. The unique taste of the fish and chips cooked in beef fat, is a great change from the ordinary. The cod was flawless with an extremely light & crispy but flavoursome batter - all piping hot straight from the fryer. Finished off very quickly! Nice to see the authentic period building still kept in good use.

Limited choice, but cod was very fresh and tasty. Batter thin and crispy, just perfect. Chips light golden, fresh oil. Generous portion, competitive priced. Bring cash, no credit card accepted

My mum used to take me here years ago when I was little, when we visited my nan I'm not sure if they are the same people but to find the chip shop still here was fantastic! & it didn't disappoint on a visit with my mum we came here for our dinner it was delicious and I couldn't fault it, coming from London I was expecting it to be the same price but was very surprised at how much cheaper it was ! You have got real bargain here for such a yummy meal !

Lovely owners, so friendly and helpful and the ability to pay via bank transfer and not needing cash was winning for us!! The fish was beautiful and would 100% buy again, I am a little bit chip fussy and in my opinion the chips did not do the fish justice ... but would probably be willing to give it another try as the fish was stand out!!!

I love this place. Fish supper shop. I always get the same quality standard of food. Crispy batter perfectly cooked fish and the chips chunky ones and small ones and everything in between all cooked in beef dripping. My wife drives from one side of Exeter to the other just so we get a top FISH SUPPER

Been here twice now. Loved the taste of the chips, not soggy but crispy which is what we like. Lovely scampi too. Definitely will go here again. The only let down is this place is cash only and these days people don’t always carry cash on them so forces people to go elsewhere. Probably lose a fair bit of custom due to this.

This is my local chippie as I live in Buller road. Been going there for as long as I remember though under different owners over the years. Cant complain about their fish and chips or prices and you always get good portions. Service very efficient. I would recommend the battered sausages love 'em!

Been going there for years and never had a bad thing to say about the place.
The owner is friendly and the place is always clean.
The portion size is great as well, a large portion of chips easily feeds me and my son and the batter on the fish is fluffy and not to greasy like other chip shops I've been to.
My only complaint is not enough salt and viniger on my food, but thats just down to personal preference.
Over all I rate them 5* and would recommend them anyone wanting a quick and tasty meal.

Go here quite frequently. Lovely batter on the fish and a decent size. Good portion of chips. Always a filling meal

This shop has improved a lot in recent times; hence it has gone from 2 to 5 stars!
Based on a few new visits, everything is always piping hot, very well and freshly cooked with lovely crisp batter too. Excellent food at a reasonable price which is cheaper than almost everyone else I know in the area and without cutting portions size.
A couple of friends had told me how good it was now it was under new management and they were not wrong. I wish they had told me before so in could enjoy it earlier.
Before the food was ok but many times could leave a cold lard feeling on roof of your mouth; not anymore. I don't eat Fish and chips that often but The Fish Supper House is now my first place of choice.

Best chip shop around ! - I really enjoy their fish & the chips as well - not sure what oil.they use - but it tastes terrific- hopefully they're open tonight- go on - give your taste buds a real treat x

This is an excellent fish and chip shop. Generally, other chip shops around Exeter tend to disappoint on either the fish or the chips but this one does not. The fish was succulent and the batter has that perfect crunch while the chips are fluffy and crispy at the same time. It was also pleasantly low cost. Not the best I've ever had but certainly the best I've had in the city. Cash only.
