The Malt House Harvester

We arrived without booking and the staff found us a table. They offered and provided us with crayons and activities for the kids, which went down well. The area was clean and tidy, and the staff were very pleasant. Food was very nice, price was to be expected, not too cheap but not overly expensive. For drinks and meals for 2 adults and 2 kids came to around £50. In addition, our little one slipped off his chair and fell on the floor. To staff credit someone came over right away and offered an ice pack. I was impressed by this, and commend the staff for their good efforts!

Lovely staff (apologies, forgot to ask your name, but you were working this afternoon, 22nd Oct), the food was excellent and plentiful and the kids take away desserts were large! Only went there to charge up the car! Will definitely return. One small suggestion - can you provide spoons with the takeaway desserts.

Great traditional looking pub just behind a river. Large and spacious with parking (make sure you register your number plate inside!). Food is good, plenty of veggie/vegan options, portions are great and plenty of salad bar options. Could do with a little variety away from halloumi in the vegetarian menu. Staff are friendly and very accommodating.

We have visited several times and enjoy the food and the service is usually very good. Last visit the salad bar was very poor and the sauces not replenished and so not able to get the choice wanted, no staff able to assist. Overall lovely place to visit for a meal or just a drink and the service can be a little hit and miss but not a negative

If I have reviewed the Exeter branch last week (Sept 3, 2023) I would have given them a 3 star as meal presentation was pretty basic like you were eating at home. No sauce served for my simply salmon and the fish skin was served on top. The sweet potato fries were very soggy it looks like a cheap fries. I said I will give another try as Harvester has been one of my favourite restaurant in Bristol. So came back again to Harvester Exeter today (09/09/2023) and the quality of food was great- it was presented like the one I get from Bristol branch. Sweet potato fries was crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. My favourite was Simply salmon served with hollandaise sauce The rack of ribs was excellent! Really delicious and we enjoyed it - meat comes off so easily from the bone. The salad bar (2nd time now) - nobody seems to be cleaning and tidying up, and not refilled too. I had plenty but husband didn’t get what he wanted as containers were empty or nearly empty. The service received from Isobel was great today. Very nice, attentive and good in everything she does. She’s very active and hardworking lady. I heard her saying to the person next to our table when they commented how busy she was, she said she doesn’t need to go to the gym. Today I was not disappointed. Location was great next to the Exe.
