Oh boy. I came here with a cousin I haven’t seen for ages. We aren’t that close, but always meet for a curry once a year. He choose this place and I can honestly say, it’s in my top 3 Indians of all time.
The atmosphere was electric. I’m talking thunder on mountain type electric. The food made me want to weep. The lamb was clearly of the highest quality and the saag was like Christmas morning.
So if you are in town, in the area get in the mix. Support the lads, the team and get a booking.
Thank you gents from me and my cousin.
We shall dance in the rain again I’m sure
Recently had dinner here. Arrived and was greeted and promptly seated by courteous staff. We had chicken tikka masala saag balti and Akbori Gost, garlic naan and pelau rice. Both the chicken and lamb was lovely and tender. Full of flavour.
This restaurant has a lot of seating but the ambiance was lacking and the white curtains in the window didn't compliment the restaurant. With the name of sparkles I was expecting more. Very good service by attentive waitresses, food portions were good. Will be back.
Had high expectations of the food here as Real India (just around the corner) has long been my favourite Indian ever. Naturally, it was quieter than 'normal' times, but the service was excellent and the food was every bit as good as Real India. Great to see the variety of local Exeter Brewery beers available too, not just the normal Cobras etc. Avocet was on draught which is amazing. Loads of room, felt very safe as Covid precautions clearly labelled everywhere, and tables well spaced apart. The owner was charming and showed a genuine interest in our enjoyment of the evening. Top notch night and very full, thank you! We'll be back.
We popped in when Sparkles opened at 5pm and had a lovely meal. It was our first visit and will be the first of many visits. Staff greeted us nicely, drinks were quick to arrive to the table. Staff kept us informed on each dish and where to find everything. Sparkles is a hidden gem and with time is going to be a big hit. I don’t know of another Indian buffet restaurant in Exeter or the close surrounding area. Lots of different dishes, rices, breads, poppadoms all for £10 per person. Can’t go wrong!
Had a very pleasant evening at Sparkles. The food was excellent, very tasty and plenty of it. Staff were very courteous but I think they lack a little bit of training. We ordered a bottle of wine. When it arrived the glasses were full to the brim ( not how you serve wine). One side plate had a chip in it . However that would not stop us returning.
We received an extremely warm welcome upon arrival at the restaurant, promptly followed by poppadoms and drinks. The food was nothing short of excellent. A great buffet selection, which was all incredibly fresh.
I will definitely be recommending Sparkles to people!
Excellent!
Went for the first time today, the host was absolutely amazing. He explained that the resturant was new and things had change from the previous resturant. He Recommend what dishes to try, and checking in on us throughout. He was very polite and kind, delivering great customer service. Food was amazing and had quite a nice variety to choose from. We only payed £10 each for the all you can eat buffet. Which is very reasonable. So definitely would recommend!
I want to start by saying the food was really good. If your not in a rush and don’t mind waiting a bit, I think you can have a good night.
If you looking for service, it’s not the place, no disrespect but it is a buffet service at £10 per person, so it is a very good price, I don’t believe it’s fair to leave negative feedback for service as I don’t believe I paid for it.
I think we should all help this place to get its name out there for it to have a fair shot.
And I wish the Business well as it is a much needed place in Exeter, only India buffet I know of let’s, keep it.
Large open seated restaurant on 2 levels, very impressive. Food was top notch including a lamb curry that was superb. The menu had a varied range of offerings but was not overlong. Short but cheap wine list which is a welcome change as makes for affordable night out. The serving staff were mainly students who were delightful. The owner was in situ keeping an organised eye on proceedings. Hope they go from strength to strength with this venture as we would 100% return
Upon arrival, we were greeted by a very pleasant man, who was awesome polite.
We were showed to our seats very quickly and offered poppadoms and drinks.
4 of us ate here tonight, all the food was delicious and a great variety of meals for an all you can eat.
Will be back!
Thanks for a lovely meal
