My husband and I (vegetarian) have been here 4 times now, following a recommendation from family. The food is fantastic, the staff are lovely and we love the relaxed vibe. We've gone for the alcoholic drinks flight as well as the non-alcoholic one, both of which are well worth it - and their regular drinks menu also has some great options, including their homemade kombucha. Our most recent visit on Saturday we took my best friend, who is Vegan with a nut allergy - not only could they accommodate this but her food was equally lovely, which having been out with her many times I can say is unfortunately not always the case. Cannot recommend more - especially the bread!
Genuinely an amazing place all round! Staff are incredibly welcoming and friendly with scrumptious food.
Seasonal ingredients used so the menu changes on each visit. Highly recommended 😊

An exceptional dinner from start to finish. From the level of service to the creativity and quality of food, we had a perfect meal. I love the concept of your ever changing menu and the fact I could come again in the near future and have a very different meal.
Absolutely love what these guys are doing - so great to see! Lots of passion, chilled vibe and great food! New favourite place in Exeter, without a doubt. Looking forward to trying more of the food and drinks the innovative chef is coming up with next time 😃
Only slight piece of feedback is if you’re in the first sitting (as we were tonight) everything feels slightly rushed toward the end as the next guests are queuing outside. Difficult to avoid with small space and two sittings though, so totally understand and didn’t taint the evening at all.

Phenomenal place, a real treat!
My partner and I have been a fair few times and now make it a monthly treat.
Robbie and the other guys are such fun. They're full of enthusiasm, have masses of energy and it shows how passionate they are in what they do.
This is pure art with food. Explosive tastes and genius dishes. Combinations of food and tastes you'd never imagine, yet they do it and they get it so right.
I love how they tell you about each individual dish they're serving you, it's so interesting. Each one really gets you buzzing.

I love that Stage is a small space, yet plentiful. The atmosphere is incredibly inviting and we love the interiors quirkiness and great vibes.
When we get home we feel like we've literally just had a night in Barcelona or somewhere, and teleported home. That's something you don't get anywhere else.
Stage just has that cosy unique feel. This place really is in a league of it's own. These guys are geniuses!
This is now our go-to place to eat, and it's (luckily) so local to us.
You honestly won't find better than this in Exeter, not a chance.
And.....you'll never find better bread anywhere else!

Outstanding food. Every bite was gorgeous.
Attentive service from Will. The teams passion for what they have created really shine through Will’s attention to detail and thoughtfulness to the customers needs.
Really impressed. Beautifully cooked and executed, every dish had a twist. Service was faultless, every dish accompanied with a full explanation. A rarity. Our only niggle? the seating was a little uncomfortable and the restaurant, certainly below the mezzanine, could do with a little extra warmth. Definitely be back though.
Quite simply, and without exaggeration, the best dining experience I've had in many a year.
The six-course menu was well crafted, pairing flavours and textures really well. The highlight for me was the lamb taco, but there wasn't a weak course at all. Each dish was beautifully presented, and the pace of the meal was spot on too. We were there just over two hours, and whilst the meal was comprehensive, we didn't feel we'd over-eaten at all.
The service was exemplary. Tom was welcoming, attentive, engaging, and gave us just the right amount of his time.
We opted for the matching wine flight, which was expertly paired to each of the dishes. Robbie's enthusiasm, knowledge and passion shone through with every course.
My first visit to Stage was honestly without fault, I cannot recommend it highly enough. A true gem hiding in plain sight.
We went for lunch - a 6 course taster menu. 3 of us chose a fish menu and 1 the vegetarian menu. The restaurant is sustainable, food locally sourced, and they reduce waste by doing taster menus rather than a la Carte. The food was fantastic, beautifully cooked, imaginative combinations and truly wonderful flavours. Prompt, friendly service, great atmosphere and just a really cool restaurant. If you are in Exeter just go - you won’t regret it.
Atmosphere and location was excellent. The team are engaging knowledgeable and enthusiastic and what they are producing. It is well orchestrated and you are introduced to each course and the corresponding drink if you order the drinks flight. Outstanding experience, we will definitely revisit.
