Thoroughly enjoyed our Sunday roast, our most favourite meal, we had the wild garlic soup, and the trio meat roast
Recently had brunch here. The restaurant was partly full with a few large groups which added to the atmosphere. We booked so we were promptly seated. We had the wagyu burger, the chicken burger and the camembert to share as a starter.
The wait team was polite.
The food was good. The wagyu was pulled beef and was tasty and a bit salty but enjoyed it. The chicken burger was good.
Service is included.
This was a diamond find for us. Guided by existing reviews, headed here for a quick sustenance reboot before a spot of shopping. The dishes were divine, the super-pimped, truffle/parmesan fries-side surprisingly so. We will look forward to returning to sample others soon!
This a review of the newly located Margoux's, great location in the city center, booking is essential even for drinks only. We arrived and asked to go upstairs for drinks on the terrace and were told he would come and find us when our table was ready, there is a view of the Cathedral...sort of ! The upstairs bar and terrace we're smaller than I thought it looked bigger when I've seen it on social media, anyway it's all table service and our server was tip top. We had booked for 7.30 but at 7.40 asked our server to check on our table, it was ready so down stairs we went. It was busy and had a good atmosphere. We had Salt & pepper squid and a beef, mushroom and mustard terrine both were really good, mains I had Hake with croquet potato and braised leeks...oh my Lord the Hake was perfect.
One thing I noticed because the restaurant is square it is laid our a bit like dinning room straight rows but the bring said they need to maximize space however if your a larger group you will be sat a long table but that's a small gripe. It was a very cooked dinner and we both really enjoyed it.
Margoux has the best roast dinner... EVER! Not exaggerating, it is the best! The cocktails and deserts are also lovely. Staff are so friendly, my friends brought their 1 year old son and all the staff made such an effort to make them feel welcome and catered for.
There was a man singing and playing the piano which was so lovely! We had such a great Sunday afternoon! Thankyou all so much!
Wow. Where to start. The decor is stunning, the food is phenomenal and the staff are amazing. The chefs have some amazing skill. This is by far the best Resturant in Exeter. I treasured every bite. I highly recommend. I will most definitely be back. Well done to all.
Food was very good surprisingly filling despite the size. There was a wide variety of drinks. Service was fast and attentive. Waiters were professional and friendly. Atmosphere was lively a bit too crowded would have been more comfortable with more spacing between tables. Decor was retro modern and unique. Was a bit expensive but expected. No nhs discount yet. Book a reservation before hand as it gets busy. Good hygiene practice, staff could gel there hands more. Overall very pleased would dine again.
