A warm and welcoming little pub/ restaurant hidden away in a tiny place called Failford. Beautiful scenery to view when relaxing in the beer garden and the bar is gorgeous when the fire is on. The owner was polite and friendly when helping us with drinks and food. Our lunch was great, Loved the experience overall, shame we are too far away to visit more often.
Stopped in for lunch after a wander to Peden's Cove. Stunning, peaceful beer garden, and delicious food. Great service, too.
We stopped here for lunch after a walk with our dog. It's a huge plus for us that it's genuinely dog friendly. The food was above average pub fare with some extra special dishes available. They have a spectacular mixed seafood platter, for example (not pictured). The staff were friendly and helpful and service was good. The only downside is the lack of parking which, sadly, is something they can't do anything about.
Popped in for a bit of lunch and was pleasantly surprised how cozy and welcoming this pub was. Ordered the fish and chips and saw the chef pour beer from the tap into a mixing bow, that's how fresh it is!
I had a crying baby on my hands so staff were kind enough to take my food to one side and keep it warm for me while I fed him. Friendly staff. The best fish and chips I have had in a long time and a beautiful wee place. Wish I was local enough to enjoy this place daily!
Just stopped in for a quick drink after a long walk around Ayr Gorge. What a fab hidden gem. Definitely going back for Sunday lunch another time!
Great wee Place .welcoming Staff
Had a wee bit of banter and the food was to die for
Will be back
Booked for next week
Steak pie again mmmm
Purveyors of one of the finest Scotch eggs I’ve ever had. Pleasantly surprised by the quality of fayre. Egg-shaped good first appearance with dark crust, dressed salad and piccalilli on the side. Hard outer shell without soft squidge. Chapeau for the runny egg yolk! Good, clean tastitude of haggis and black pudding Scotch, which was visibly moist. Well balanced flavours.
What a relaxing and quiet lunch, the food was great, warm, fresh, home-made and there was plenty of it. 2 course lunch with a drink each for under £40. You can eat in the bar which is dog friendly or the restaurant that looks on to the river. Birds galore we gave up trying to count the different species we saw, the Woodpecker was my surprise. Duck with Pine nuts, Crispy Chicken with Honey, Sesame drizzle. Chicken Stroganoff and Steak Pie. Yummy Folks
Stopped in for, dinner. Starters and mains were really great, and staff were pleasant. A lovely place to eat.
Incredible views, good food, friendly service & great atmosphere
