Hamilton's Tea House

What a find! Visited earlier this week for a spot of lunch. The team are so friendly and accommodating! Food was delicious (highly recommend the soup and toastie). Also got a couple of cinnamon buns to take away - amazing! Nothing was too much trouble, will definitely be a regular! *UPDATE* Just updating this review as I've been back here a couple of times since and have consistently had an excellent experience! The Manager is incredibly helpful - reserved a table at very last minute this week and he was very kind. It's also lovely to find somewhere where you feel welcome when you have a little person and a pushchair with you! :-) Also the carrot cake is delicious!

Had a really lovely afternoon tea with a friend. The selection of sandwiches, cakes and scones was excellent as was the glass of Prosecco and non—alcoholic cocktail. I particularly liked the mini coffee cup dessert. The service was very personable and they couldn’t do enough for us. I would highly recommend Hamiltons.

More than just a tea house, Hamilton's serves delicious fresh lunches with excellent service in a pleasant atmosphere. Very limited number of tables but never feels crowded and you always feel very welcome. The menu has some interesting and unusual variations on some old favourites: a quie is a cross between a quiche and a pie. Delicious cakes are always available too.

A lovely discovery! A very positive and different place for a break and something tasty - the difference is that it’s a Tea House, not a coffee place. They know their teas and wouldn’t dream of serving you over-stewed green tea, which is very rare. They also serve coffee, from beans ground to order, from a local company, so nobody is left out 😉 There’s a range of lovely sweet treats to eat in or take away, and I will return to have a good look at their full menu and try more. Lovely staff and good atmosphere 🙂

A friend and I met for afternoon tea at Hamilton’s and we can’t recommend it highly enough. The food was incredibly good and the selection of teas was excellent. The fruit scone was my favourite. I’m not a fan of citrus based cakes but the lemon cake included was amazing. I now have to go back with my partner! I couldn’t finish the tea so the staff kindly boxed me up the remaining cake which I took home to my partner and he liked it so much he wants to try the afternoon tea as well. The staff were attentive, warm and welcoming. Highly recommended!

My husband and I had afternoon tea here. It was absolutely delicious! The portion sizes were generous and the tea was just perfect! My favourite part of the meal was the chicken curry on a puff pastry. Look at all the layers!! The staff was very kind and attentive . We will definitely be coming back the next time we’re in England!
