We came in for a meal- one of the Best dinners in Scotland. The venison and the chocolate souffle were spectacular. The service was exemplary. So happy we made this detour! PS- Google Maps takes you to the wrong location- don't turn off the road onto a tiny road- this is very much on the side of the road through Cupar.

Hidden Gem! We celebrated here in June and had a wonderful trip. The room was spacious, immaculate and had everything you would expect of high end rooms. I preferred this room to other notable restaurants with rooms we have visited in the UK. The reception area was intimate, we were offered a range of cocktails and we felt completely relaxed before dinner. We opted for the tasting menu and wine which were exceptional and there was a lovely atmosphere. We were at no point rushed and the food was exceptional. Thanks Peat Inn team!

Great food served pleasantly with a great wine pairing. Service was impeccable and, with a little encouragement, conversation with the staff was interesting and involved. Normally I lost lots of photos but here you will surely get something different and intriguing, do just come, easy, relax and enjoy.

The restaurant is fantastic. The food was brilliant, the service excellent - it was very busy though. The rooms though, disappoint. They are lovely and the unexpected extras welcome. However the flowers are plastic (really!) and the sofa oddly uncomfortable. And very expensive. You can get far more for the same money a few miles down the road in St Andrews. I will do the restaurant again, but I'll avoid the rooms.

Having never previously heard of the Peat Inn, we received vouchers for dinner and overnight stay for a special anniversary from both our sons and their wives. Brilliant choice. Situated in the countryside, a few miles inland from the Fife coast. We stayed in the Abercrombie room, which was first class, split level accommodation with the bedroom on the lower level and the lounge/dining area above, we received a suprise welcome gift on arrival which was a nice touch, (I'll not disclose this for any future guests) The Restraunt was excellent, and the knowledgeable staff catered for us and explained in detail the content of meals. A good night was had. Visit was rounded off by the two charming ladies who delivered our continental breakfast bang on time to our room next morning and set out on the table in our dining area. Perfect, We had a fine time.

A delight of culinary joy. The service was exceptional, the ambiance cosy, and best of all, the chef accommodated making my fussy eater a dish she devoured. Can’t wait to go back!

It's always advisable to book a table here as this restaurant is always busy and fully booked months ahead. On this visit, we used an Itison voucher, which gave us a 5 course meal, no drinks included. This is a Michelin starred restaurant, so expect an all-inclusive experience. We had a drink in the bar next to the dining room whilst choosing our dishes from the menu, then we were taken to our table. The servers were polite, prompt, and well presented, explaining what all the dishes were and bringing out each course with perfect timing so that the meal was neither rushed nor too long. All of the food that was served to the table was of good quality. My favourite was the orzo risotto, simply delicious. It's always a nice experience to eat here, but do expect Michelin star prices. The car park outside can be busy, but there is free on street parking available.

We had a lovely dinner and overnight experience with a voucher from It is on (£375). Room was lovely of a bit odd in respect of stairs up to living area and down to sleeping area/toilet. Not sure if there are more accessible rooms but this type of room would not be suitable for elderly or anyone with mobility issues. Also TV upstairs with tea/coffee so if you wanted a cuppa in bed you had to carry cups down a good few stairs. Note if you are thinking of it, breakfast is continental (v high standard and v varied) and delivered to room. Dinner was beautiful even if I did not really care for carpaccio of scallops. Service and quality delightful. We paid a good bit more for drinks and 4th course but was all worth it. Definitely recommend it.
