Literally the best fish and chips I've had in a long time!!! Fish was thick and delicious. The batter was amazing and crunchy. Mushy peas were good. Service was fast and very friendly. Shame we're on holiday!!! If you're in Filey ...go!!!!
Absolutely beautiful pice of fish (don't eat chips ) curry sauce Absolutely amazing portion size was huge and cooked perfectly kids said the chips were amazing aswell so on that note a score it 9.5 out of 10 dingo mandingos if your in filey its a must try
A proper fish and chip shop. Really crisp batter on the fish and dripping cooked chips. Add a pot of tea for two and share a syrup sponge and custard for a perfect seaside supper. Lovely service too.

Me and my mates just completed the Filey brown crawl.
After drinking brown water from the war memorial fountain and having brown coffee and donuts on the sea front we headed to the brown room.
The food in the brown room was terrificly brown, however the flow of the brown started taking over my bowels.
We rushed down to the public bathrooms to decorate the toilet brown.

Excellent fish and chips, served hot and fresh with a decent pot of tea. Very friendly staff and quick service.
I had fish and chips with local friends who brought me to the Brown Room to buy take away. The first time was in 2018. The latest time was this time, in June this year. The batter is crispy and tasty. The chips are very good and the fish is enormous! The portions are humongous in my point of view. 😁 When you are craving some fish and chips I would definitely recommend the Brown Room!
Quite simply the best fish and chips in Filey and certainly the friendliest staff. The lady who works there always takes time to have a joke with us and a bit if friendly banter.. simply fabulous food and service.. the owners lovely aswell. Can highly recommend a visit.
Fish and chips at the seaside can be disappointing but this was good. Very enjoyable and reasonable portion size. Crispy batter. I would prefer the option of a large mug of tea but that's trivial really.

And boy did it feed us. The lad who served us knew wat we meant when we said 2 fish suppers. He gave us extra potions of fish and it was lovely... one of best fish suppers ever.
Well, I briefly visited Filey today and popped in here for a quick bite, and can I say, it is definitely worth a try. The curry sauce undoubtedly the best I’ve ever had, and this is coming from a curry sauce enthusiast, like myself, and others will certainly agree! Nice, crispy batter complements the fish beautifully and the chips with their lightly brown glazed aura, and fluffy insides which give for a subtle but splendid surprise of stupendous mouth watering flavours. Also we got an extra half of cod, for whatever reason, however it was a good little bonus for us. Friendly staff, 5 stars would recommend. 👍🏻
