Downcliffe House - Filey - Photo album

Booked dinner this evening Monday 31st May following a recommendation from a stranger. It was a very good recommendation indeed. It is STUNNING here. The attention to detail of absolutely everything is fantastic. Such a great ambience. Classy and relaxed. Great attentive staff. The food is worth ev
Couldn’t have asked for anything better for 2 night relaxing getaway. Easy check in, beautifully furnished and finished room. Very comfortable large bed, slept so well especially after a long walk along the beach and a trip up to Whitby Abbey. Made dinner reservations for both nights when we booked
Called in for lunch with family. The hotel is perfectly positioned just across from the sea, beautiful scenery to sit for a meal. We all had the Steak and ale pie which was excellent and I would have again. Recently refurbished to a very high standard. If you are in Filey call in you will not be dis
I found this hotel to be rather difficult to categorise due to the very quirky decor. It's a place that you will either love or hate. Personally, I love it, but many will be put off by some of the artwork. Plus points are the brilliant front of house staff for whom nothing is too much trouble. Food
Our first visit, but not our last ! This restaurant was amazing. The food was quality, hot and delicious. The staff were professional, courteous and friendly. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
What a fabulous place! My husband and I first stayed at Downcliffe House in November 2018 and we were blown away by the level of detail taken in this boutique hotel. Every room is impeccably decorated and no request is too much trouble for the staff who are friendly and courteous. I have rarely gone
Only had coffee so can't comment on any food offerings. Great location on a sunny day in October to watch the sea and the world go by, and we weren't on our own as others also used the outside tables. Service was prompt and efficient. Coffee ok. Liked the use of insulated coffee pots.
We had an end of holiday meal here as a treat to ourselves and we were not disappointed. Welcoming entrance, elegant and quirky decor, great service and amazing food! Every member of our party enjoyed their meal with clean plates. Woukd definitely return.
Friendly staff. Excellent food. We were allowed our dog with us if sat outside on the patio. Big cuddly blankets are available and the views are great. The food is awesome. Did I mention the food ?! We loved it.
Lunch today with my mum. Service was excellent, food was top notch. I had pie my mam had crab salad. The pie was one of the best I have had in a long time. Mam enjoyed the salad. Compliments to the chef and the lovely young man who waited for us.
Only popped in for a drink after a lovely stroll along Fileys fantastic beach. One of the few places along the seafront where you could get a drink. Great outdoor seating area, friendly and cheerful staff - and a nice place to sit and people watch. For what it is (i.e. a Boutique Hotel) we thought t
This hotel is in a great setting, as close to the sea as you would want to be. Decorated and furnished in a quirky fashion, in places a little Tim Burtonesque gothic. Still preserves enough of the original character to appreciate. It's a magnificent old house although facilities are modern and comfo
My wife & I enjoyed a lovely hot cup of coffee with an excellent scone, with jam & cream. We sat out on the front terrace and enjoyed the stunning view out to sea 👍😁
Lovely hotel , we only called in for a drink. The menu looks good , can have a light bite or evening meal. We sat inside as it was a chilly day but you have a choice as there are tables outside and blankets to wrap around if it gets too cold. We had a lovely time just chilling looking at the gorgeou
Great food ,great room . However we paid £170 for one night bed breakfast. We had evening meal which took far too long in between courses and our Shared dessert, was a bit of a mix up. Breakfast was ok. I felt new guidelines for covid has extra pressure on staff .
Absolutely brilliant. Lovely terrace overlooking the front. An interesting menu. The food was delicious. Dog friendly too. So good we visited twice in four days.
Beautiful hotel, very unique decor. Great views of the sea from our room. And the food is just incredible. Would love to go back
