I found this hotel to be rather difficult to categorise due to the very quirky decor. It's a place that you will either love or hate.
Personally, I love it, but many will be put off by some of the artwork.
Plus points are the brilliant front of house staff for whom nothing is too much trouble. Food
Our first visit, but not our last ! This restaurant was amazing. The food was quality, hot and delicious. The staff were professional, courteous and friendly. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

My husband and I first stayed at Downcliffe House in November 2018 and we were blown away by the level of detail taken in this boutique hotel.
Every room is impeccably decorated and no request is too much trouble for the staff who are friendly and courteous.

Only had coffee so can't comment on any food offerings. Great location on a sunny day in October to watch the sea and the world go by, and we weren't on our own as others also used the outside tables.
Service was prompt and efficient. Coffee ok. Liked the use of insulated coffee pots.
We had an end of holiday meal here as a treat to ourselves and we were not disappointed. Welcoming entrance, elegant and quirky decor, great service and amazing food! Every member of our party enjoyed their meal with clean plates. Woukd definitely return.
Friendly staff. Excellent food. We were allowed our dog with us if sat outside on the patio. Big cuddly blankets are available and the views are great. The food is awesome. Did I mention the food ?! We loved it.
Lunch today with my mum. Service was excellent, food was top notch. I had pie my mam had crab salad. The pie was one of the best I have had in a long time. Mam enjoyed the salad. Compliments to the chef and the lovely young man who waited for us.
