We booked in advance as it was a bank holiday weekend, though the place wasn't too busy anyway.
The food was amazing! Best place I've ate out for months!
Between four we shared the nibble nobble platter, I think it was called, it is perfect for two. But that was fantastic: the ribs feel off the bone and they weren't too fatty. The fried mushrooms weren't covered with too much coating. The rest was what you'd except but was all lovely- cleaned the plate!
I have the chicken and mushroom ravioli, it was gorgeous! Very filling. Perfect flavour.
My Fiance, had the burger with pulled pork. That was amazing, best pulled pork any of us have ever tasted!
The chicken and leak pie came with a really decent serving of gravy and decent amount of veg on the side!
The one pot chicken, also was amazing the potatoes it came with were so soft and not greasy!
We were stuff so unfortunately didn't get to try the puddings. But the pub itself was a nice establishment, drink were decently priced, waiting staff were amazing, and the food was out of this world! A definite must!
Lovely little site but spoilt by some whinging people who love to annoy the dogs but then don't like it when they start barking. If you don't like them don't book a site that allows dogs on. The owner and Landlady of the Pub are lovely people and very down to earth, typical Yorkshire folk. The Pub is lovely with a nice varied menu and staff are great and friendly as well. Young Connor who is running the site is great and will help wherever he can. The site is ideally located for Filey, Reighton Gap and Hunmanby. The beach at Hunmanby is amazing and dog friendly and our three loved it running in the waves. We will definitely be returning but will ask for the pitch away from the waste and water point, which was the only one left when we arrived, so that any people going to top water drums up don't have to worry about the dogs barking. The other small point which convinced us it was the Derby Ducks who whinged was that 3 of them came over in turn to set the dogs off instead of just one visit to the bins and water point. Why do people go away just to whinge and moan, fgs, chill and enjoy yourself.
Great pub, food top notch and top quality beer. Service is excellent and the staff are very friendly. Will definitely be going for Sunday lunch again
Fantastic place! Cosy ,the staff were very welcoming the food was beautiful!we were a party of 6 and all the food came out together hot and all fresh! Definitely recommend a visit
Great little pub with a very good food menu, serving wonderfully prepared tasty meals, served to you by very friendly and attentive staff, indoor play area for the kids, would highly recommend a visit 👍
Very nice place and location the food portions are large don't snack before you visit here. We all enjoyed our food from a varied menu. If your near give it a try it wont cost you the earth.
We had the lamb Rogan josh, chicken rezala, kids spag bol and pizza, honeycomb cheesecake and shortbread apple pie. Very nom! Kids were very happy with the soft play and the staff are lovely. Great atmosphere when the fire is on.
We try to get here every time we come to filey.
The best steak pie I've ever had. The steak ravioli was also fantastic. Soft play for the kids was ok too
Ate here yesterday had the steak pie hubby had the fish and chips. The food was excellent as we're the Staff and service we got. Nothing was too much trouble. The homemade chips were to die for. We will definitely be back
Lovely food as always . Its not a fast paced pub but thats what we like, usually busy so good to book a table to avoid being disappointed. My daughter loves the half rack of ribs, I usually go for a steak with peppercorn sauce and my friend had the jumbo cod and chips. Would recommend you give it a try.
I don't often review places but have to say I think this is the nicest food I have ever had, portions were huge and my steak cooked perfectly, the homemade chips were lovely and the gravy amazing!!! We will definitely be returning and with children aged 3-9 the kids menu has a great range and they all loved the play area xx
Had a lovely Sunday roast and a chilli where the hotness could be ordered. Nice food and a decent price. Good portion size too.
Just got home from staying at reighton sands and had this pub reccomended , it was lovely ,massive portions and the food was lovely , will definatly return here
What a charming wonderful olde world style pub,the oak beams are a big feature with lots of fine furnishings placed strategically placed around, the atmosphere is very nice with good background music, the food is outstanding and cooked from fresh straight to your plate.
I opted for the large cod and homemade thick cut chips just like my mother used to make I must add the cod was large and to be honest so far it's been the best experience of fish and chips that I have had on the east coast , a wonderful dining experience and the honey pot catered for us even at short notice after a walk in,I would certainly recommend this establishment as a must visit whilst on your stay on the coast and you won't be disappointed the menu's have lots to choose from, many thanks Mr Steven Wilson
Don't judge a book by its cover!! Parked up and was worried as it looked derelict, having a meal on mother's day you would expect a super busy pub, but it was super quiet when we arrived, it did get busy as the afternoon went on. This was a large family group meal out. We walked into the pub where the wood burner was blowing out some lovely heat , the decor inside was lovely and nice to see. Everyone was super friendly.
The food was delicious I had a beef roast dinner with a beautiful thick gravy. My husband had lasagna which he said was very nice. My son had a pepperoni pizza and my daughter had gammon which they both enjoyed very much!!
This is definitely worth a visit and we will be back.
We popped here as a walk-in (didn't book) . The staff found us a table straight away. It's a lovely period property with a log burner. Well kept hand pull and a massive variety of drinks. food was piping hot and big portions. it was our first time visiting this pub but definitely would come again. thank you 😊
I can't recommend this place enough! Firstly, the portions are absolutely huge so if you are going, make sure to go hungry! The food is homeade (You can definitely tell that it's homeade by the look and taste) and it tastes amazing. There is a wide variety of dishes ranging from Burgers to Curries and Roasts so it suits the family very well. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. We've been here many times but this time we had the Cheeseburger & Chips, Mixed Meat Roast Dinner followed by a Jaffa Cake Sundae and Sticky Toffee Pudding. I would highly recommend to book as they have limited seating and it seems to always be busy.
Nice pub, good food at reasonable prices. Would recommend the roast dinner of the day with own jug of gravy. 8oz steak was nice but could have eaten 2. Would go back again.
Haven't visited for 4 years and the Family LOVED the quirky decor and dangerous dated play area (althoughvery enjoyable) . But changed hands now. Decor more up to date and very clean and tidy. Booked Sunday 3.30 tried to change to 4.30 but didn't realise early closing. But landlord agreed 4 would work for him &staff even with a family of 6 with small children. Nearly cancelled as thought we'd feel rushed. Far from it. Food was excellent and service the same. Yes we were the last ppl there but at not one point did any staff member rush us. Definitely worth a visit especially as I've found if your staying at local Holiday parks theirs not actually many places with good food unless a big chain
We loved the old place when visiting the East Coast but definitely be going again .
I would definitely recommend coming here for food, the standard is exceptional and the portions are plenty.
The staff are absolutely amazing and really friendly and helpful, I just wish I lived nearer...
Homemade excellent food large portions. We have been coming for years whenever we are in the area, food never disappoints
Large portions and quick service. Food was great, service was spot on and the bartender is amazing. We loved the gothic feel. Only down fall is that the place needs a good dusting and the front door/ gents toilet door needs to not slam. Suggest doing some new menus too as they are a bit tatty!
When you drive up its quite hidden, high conifers outdide, doesn't look open. Inside is very old looking, but welcoming with music playing in the backgroud log fire burning made it look really cosy, there is a good selection on tbe menu, I chose the belly pork, was not disappointed the piece of pork was enormous and the crackling was amazing vegetables were fresh
Staff lovely, well worth a visit would definitely recommend
Excellent food value for money. The staff were very efficient. I had made a reservation weeks in advance and told them the occasion was my husband's 50th birthday. They kindly reserved us a section of the pub that our party had all to ourselves . They had also kindly decorated it with banners. A truly enjoyable evening had by all of us
We have been coming here for years and it's still our favourite place to eat. Absolutely gorgeous homemade food. The menu is huuuuge! So much choice to choose from. As a vegetarian, my options are usually limited but the menu here is so extensive! Really friendly staff, and lovely cosy interior. Would definitely recommend and we will be back!
We came here after being at the beach and the staff were lovely, the pub it’s self is gorgeous and feels really homely. The food was amazing I had the smoked fish pie which was delicious and fresh. My partner and friend both had a burger and said it was lovely. The portion sizes are big and don’t break the bank. Three full meals and three pints was £55 overall with the lovely atmosphere and friendly staff and great food I was happily surprised with the price. Will definitely come again and bring the dogs next time as they are dog friendly 💛
Great choice of food fairly reasonably priced and huge portions. Went with our pup and the staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Liked it so much we went back the next evening. Would definitely recommend.
Wonderful setting. Great staff and really super food.
The Honey Pot is our new favourite restaurant to go to.
The restaurant has a huge playroom for children so this place is a great place to go for a meal for young families.
I will continue to promote this restaurant to all of my friends and family
Just been to The Honeypot for Fathers Day dinner.
Highly recommend.
Great portion sizes, and value. And excellent choice with vegetarian and vegan menus, as well as gluten free options. Staff were friendly and helpful.
My vegetarian shepherds pie was lovely, will definitely be back.
Had the best most gorgeous food and drink service was great very reasonable and massive plates we was very happy and would return over and over.
Had some fabulous Beer's n Largers the food was freshly made and cooked a fantastic and Fabulous meals and menu and the Sunday roast was beautifully served with love and care 😋
Food is fantastic, very reasonably priced for the quality. Everything is executed to a high standard, very flavoursome. Great service, you do have to order at the bar but it's no bother. Lovely visit.
