Inflation must have bypassed this restaurant. The price was a steal for sure, especially for pork belly. Meats were of high quality. I was surprised to come across pork rinds on the menu. My favorite was the pork jowl. Mmmmm delicious! No complaints on the service. It was pretty clean inside; no sticky tables, etc. You have to finish the meal with some fried rice! Watch how the server mixes on my video. For add-ons, they charge $1- $1.99 (eggs, spam, cheese and so forth). Will definitely be back when I’m around.

What can you say?! Just a freaking amazing Korean bbq spot unique to the NYC! Really enjoyed all the pork belly here, get the fried rice too with the egg. Perfect little set up :)

The pork belly here is pretty good/quality, but what I really love about this restuarant is the endless flow of really good kimchi. I mean, normally kimchi is just kimchi but wow here it tastes much better than average, especially after it is grilled. Unlimited ssam which is another big plus, and personally I thought the best item on the menu here was the 막창.

I mean… this place is just great korean bbq at its finest. Don’t think this is a place you will get attentive service every single minute. Have some patience, order everything at one time (food and drinks) and don’t bother the staff. This is a great neighborhood korean pork belly place with great food and just leave it at that. Enjoy it

I went with my friends and they only gave us fats. No real meat, literally only fats. My friends and I all looks very young and I'm assuming the old owner thought it would be fine to give us such trashy meat. Unfortunately I tell him right away that this is not pork belly, it is pork fat. Then he gave us new pork belly, still bunch of fat parts. I cannot believe he decide to bring such part which seems better to be in trash can. I still gave five stars because I know their food is good and the only problem was the man. I do not want to go back if that old man owner's attitude towards young-looking customers never changed

Oh man came here on a Friday afternoon 3pm with our group being the only people in there at the time. Staff was pretty attentive (though it could be because we were the only ones in there) I would mostly come here for the black pork. It was the first time having it and it was Soo good. We ordered the normal pork afterwards and decided that next time we'd only get the black pork. The other meats we ordered weren't too bad as well but I don't think it was anything you can't get from other kbbq places around the area. One other thing I like about this place is the amount of kimchi and beans sprouts they put on the grill. It helps cut the fat of all the meat and even gets some flavor of the meat since it soaks up the juices One tip I have is get the naengmyeon after the BBQ. The cold noodles were soooo refreshing and a great finish to the meal!

This place is a cheaper version of Hahm Ji Bach, for those who know of that restaurant just a few minutes away. However, that is by no means a knock on Tong Sam. The food here is good, and I love the more casual atmosphere. I always come to these type of places with my friend who lived in Korea for two years, so he generally does all the ordering. We got pork belly and a kimchi soup. Both were good, and I was surprised that this kimchi soup had pork in it. I appreciated how generous they were with the kimchi and bean sprouts on the grill. Would recommend coming here if you’re in the area.

Pork belly is on point. The stir fry rice with spam, cheese, fish eggs and rice topped with more pork belly was unforgettable! Delicious!
