Review Fochabers Chip Shop - Fochabers

Have visited fochabers fish bar a number of times and everytime the fish has been cooked beautifully. Really nice crispy batter with homemade tartar sauce.

Visited around 6.30 on Saturday and it was absolutely packed out the door. The ordering process was very quick and efficient and all the food is cooked fresh once you place your order. The wait was not too long, roughly about half an hour but it was well worth it. The Fish and Scampi Suppers were well worth the wait 10 out of 10. Thank you all at the Fochabers Chippie for your service and our delicious Suppers.

A very nice fish and chip shop. Haddock was very nice and cooked very well. Chips were also very good. They give free tartar sauce.

I don't think I've had a better fish supper.... Just amazing. Fish was cooked perfectly, melt in you mouth stuff, batter was perfectly crispy and not too thick and the chips were superb, I will be back soon and I'll be telling everyone about it. 😋👍

Freshly cooked fish and chips, only had to wait 5 mins this evening. Social distancing measures in place and staff were very friendly and efficient. The establishment was spotless as usual. Food was delicious, highly recommended.

Nice chippy. Food cooked to order rather than it sitting around. they make their own tartar sauce which you can have in your support in a wee tub. Nice. Easy to park outside.

The fish and chips were delicious, fresh fish, crispy light batter and great chips. Nice touch with the lemon wedge and pot of tartare sauce. Good service and friendly staff. I highly recommend and will certainly be visiting again😋

Stopped for a takeout on Saturday evening (11th Feb 2016). The shop was absolutely rammed but the food was well worth the wait. The fish and chips are cooked in beef dripping, just like the fish and chips from where I come from (The Black Country) and these were equally delicious and the best fish and chips I've eaten from North of the Border! Will definitely be calling in again on our next visit :)

Brilliant fish chip shop/diner great place good service lovely place, the fish they serve its locally caught and they even say which boat it was on and also a similar story about the potatoes they use,all great customer care,see why its voted best chippy in Scotland i will be going back soon

The best chippie we have had in years! The place is immaculate and staff were very efficient even though the place was hoaching!

We visited here last Saturday and were a bit unhappy with not only the food but the service we received. Our chicken fillets were so tough they were almost inedible (bordering on shoe leather texture) and our haddock did not compare in size in the slightest to the sit in diners one (reckon it was a small not regular which we had actually ordered ). Whilst the cashier was polite and friendly the girl handing out the order lacked any of these traits and proceeded to dump our order on the counter even though I was holding out a bag - it wouldn't of hurt to place or assist to put the order in the bag. Sadly I doubt we will be returning if this is the service

Excellent, sit down fish and chips.....bread and butter and a mug of tea, just the way it should be. Always recommend our guests at Tullochwood Lodges to visit, and polish it off with Ice Cream from a few doors down (then come back to the lodges to sleep it off!), Simon

Went in for a sit down meal tonight, It was fantastic, Best fish and chips I've had in a very long time. Fish was cooked to perfection and was so fresh. And the crispy chunky chips were ace, Service was first class , couldn't fault the place at all. First class food and service. We Will definitely be back.

I'm quite suprised this establishment had won Scottish Chippie of the year award. I have been there a few times over the past few years and never been that impressed by it, but I'm always willing to give these places a chance. A few months ago I decided to stop off on the way home from work and give it another chance. The fish was good but really let me down was the fact that the chips were obviously undercooked which didn't taste very nice. Sorry for the poor review, but this experience has out me off.

Shocking, if a half fish supper was required I would have ordered one. Been a loyal customer for years but things have slipped a bit over the last year. Will be Portknockie for us from now on.

Whist I cannot fault the quality of the Fish Suppers today I was rather dissapointed that having visited this venue on many occasions and partaken in the loyalty card scheme I was surprised that my full card was not valid as the scheme was over. When I spoke to the owner about this he was totally uninterested in customer relations and said that no full cards would be honoured and was quite rude to me suggesting I try and find discounts elsewhere. I thank him for his advice and I will not be visiting his establishment again. I would like to add that the other staff were as usual polite and attentive.

This chippie is the best in Scotland and I always recommend it to anyone travelling to Moray. Quality product, great price and fantastic service from a family run business.
