Stopped by on spec late Friday morning. Made very welcome. Good range of choices on the menu and at the bar. We had 2 starters with shared fries (a good light lunch for 2). Friendly service and great food. Also super clean and very well kept. Definitely worth a return visit.

Dropped in here for a pint after walking in the area and wow, weren't we lucky; not only did they stock Cornish Best and Tribute but they also had one of the most exciting menus we had seen for a long time. We weren't intending to eat but thought it all sounded too good to miss.
We tried three different starters; squid, pigeon and duck. They all tasted as delicious as they looked and were reasonably priced. The service was also charming and we received a warm welcome even we all were soaking wet through (especially Bella the dog).
Shame we don't live around here as I would love to try everything!

Great to see the Fontmell open again.
Had a lovely meal. Service great. Food lovely.
However, it is very loud as there is no soft furnishing, curtains or books to dampen conversation and it rebounds off the walls.
Would love to return but maybe when it is not so busy...

Where else can you eat lunch where swans literally swim under your table? An entire swan family of five swans wafted around us as we ate our perfectly cooked burger and tasty mackerel pate with our pints. We then retired to the garden to catch the later rays of unseasonably warm October sunshine. The staff are particularly gracious here. My husband left his sunglasses and they searched all over for them then called us back to say they had found them. Nice pub, good food with the added bonus of tame swans, well that's a winner for me

Really enjoyable evening out, new managers Arnie and Sarah have turned The Fontmell back into a fantastic pub within one week of opening. Food is really well done, with all the classics, beef short ribs were amazing and puddings like hot raspberry souffle and blackcurrant delice are outstanding! Not overpriced and great atmosphere.
