Not been here for a while and wondered if may have changed a bit but the food was absolutely lovely, cooked exactly as we asked and staff really polite. Will definitely be a regular visitor.
Held a joint 53rd Birthday party at the Chequers Fordham me and a couple of school friends. The food was fantastic and so much of it. The staff were very attentive and great hosts. Thoroughly recommended!
We held our reception here in July.
Archie and the team were amazing! So accommodating, they met our needs and custom requests to make us feel comfortable throughout the day.

This is far and away the best curry I have had for many years - even better than some of the highly rated Cambridge curry restaurants. Each dish was cooked to perfection and tasted individually - not like some curries where all dishes taste and look similar.
The staff are very pleasant, helpful. The interior is nicely furnished. There is a small garden with tables.
We came to the Chequers last night and had a wonderful meal. Enjoyed by all our party. I must say The Chequers will be our go to place for a curry from now on. Delicious from start to finish x
I’d heard good things about this pub/restaurant and not knowing anything about the place, reached out to social media for some help. I was not disappointed, everyone came back with good stories so gave it a go and even managed to book a table through Facebook messenger..
Service was very attentive and the food was on another level. It’s as simple as that. A very good job very well done
Wow. This place is great! Staff were super kind as well. I had the tikka chicken and it was so good. Would definitely love to come back. Thank goodness I am walking distance. Lol. Atmosphere was awesome as well.
Amazing Indian food..... really enjoyed it and as we were a table of 17 peeps, service was great and done promptly with a smile. The pub itself was lovely and oldie inside, toilets were clean but are starting to look a little tired in areas. We ate in the main bar area, but there is a restaurant side with smaller tables to book. Really enjoyed it and would definately go again.
To start, if you are driving, there are a few parking spots allocated to the pub around the back in the car park shared with the coop.
The gate you can enter the pub through could do with being marked up a little better to make it clear it is indeed the pub.
Service was very good from all the staff, non intruding yet generally readily available.
The restaurant serves Indian food and my experience was very good. Portions are generous whilst be fairly priced.
The quality is good with plenty of flavour in all my dishes.
I did have a lemonade and lime for my drink, which was not the best. I was close to sending it back.
Overall I fully recommend going here. Well done to staff 👏🏻

It has been a number of years since I had been to the chequers; pre-Coop and post Coop; roughly five years in between the visits. It was previously my local pub but since I moved away it wasn’t practical.
However, I returned for a curry with my family and it was just as pleasant as I remember prior to the layout and ownership change. Highly recommend their Indian dishes especially the garlic and chilli chicken dishes.
Took my wife here tonight for her birthday ( been here several times before ) and tonight was no different. The food was excellent…..the Naan breads in particular! The staff were friendly and the service was great. Great visit to The Chequers Fordham & we’ll be back soon!
