My test is always the chips. Is the choice of spud good? Are they probably fried in good, fresh oil? Double/triple fried? Ect. Not many places get it perfect so this isn't a bad reflection on Forest Roe. The chips here are good, not perfect, but good. And for the South East area, that's good. Fish is great, nice staff too.
The chips are very good here and I thought the portion was generous. I’ve knocked off a star though because I felt the curry sauce tub was very small for £1.90 compared to the bigger sizes you’d get elsewhere for that price.
Shop was clean and tidy. Service was fast. Staff were friendly. Fish had a thin batter - which I prefer - and chips were hot albeit a bit too soft and soggy. I would recommend.
