We arrived a bit later so did not get to wander the museum, but did take the tour around lighthouse. It was amazing! Tour guide was so knowledgeable and definitely fittest granny I know lol Highly recommend. Our first time in a lighthouse knowledge will stay forever.

This was originally a Castle and Clan seat that has been used as a Lighthouse for over 2 centuries. You can visit during the day to gain access and climb inside the tower. The Lighthouse keepers cottages have been kept as they would have been lived in long ago. At night you can get some very dramatic pictures with the new light in the background or on a clear night you can see the northern lights overhead.

Fab museum very interesting and the guided tour around the lighthouse was brilliant , sorry can't remember the female guides name but she was really good . Had lunch in museum cafe after, excellent food and service . All the staff were lovely and friendly and all seemed genuinely happy to be working there . Great day out plus the weather was excellent just to add to the day . Highly recommended

This was a fun tour. We had a nice guide who filled us in on the history of the lighthouse - built in 1787. And we got to go up into it, including seeing the mechanism that turns the prisms around the light. The lighthouse was built inside an abandoned castle!

Stunning representation of period style lighthouse still in fully functional order. Great views from on top of the lighthouse and also very interesting guided tour with a very enthusiastic guide who is very knowledgeable about his trade. A definite must see. Ensure you stop at the most North Eastern point of Scotland to see this.
