We were looking for a nice country pub not too far away, and The New Anchor Inn (dog friendly) in Friskney looked very pleasant, and well worth a visit. We went for the Sunday roast, and it was a truly wonderful. Good enough choice of beers & lagers, including some local Bateman's. Nice and clean inside, not too quiet or too busy, so along with the very pleasant and friendly staff, made for a very welcoming experience. There was a choice of 3 meats, we both opted for roast beef, and it was cooked perfectly, melt in the mouth, not tough or chewy, served with large Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, and a nice selection of side vegetables, including cauliflower cheese. I followed this with the Crunchie cheesecake, which is literally as it sounds, and a very nice light desert to finish with, although fruit cocktail & chocolate sponge was also on offer on this day. Quantity wise, it's plentiful, and very good value considering food costs these days. Their weekly menu looked equally appetising, including a wide choice to suit most tastes, anything from pulled pork & cheese starters to a traditional large mixed grill. Friskney is only about a 15 minute drive out of Skegness, and makes for a nice change of scenery, with it's country village setting, surrounded by farmland. We'll certainly be returning when we next get the chance, to try some of the midweek menu, but until then, I'm sure we'll find time for another of their lovely Sunday roasts.

Recently renovated, absolutely spotless. Landlord was very friendly. He even got the chef to rustle up two Sunday roasts after the kitchen had closed. And stood me a drink as it was my birthday. He was very chatty and was obviously proud of what he had done to improve the pub. Will definitely call in again.

Had a Sunday roast with my two children and it was perfect! The food and pub were great for us and I was given some peace to enjoy my meal once my children had finished theirs as they played happily in the garden which is very adequately kitted out with play equipment etc.. There is also a gorgeous owl and some sort of bird of prey that we all enjoyed watching. The service by staff was also perfect. -Update- We just got some food from The New Anchor Inn to take away as we had to be at home and it was just as amazing! Well packaged and tasted just as good as eating in the restaurant/bar.

Very nice Inn, good selection of drinks, very family friendly and the food and service is top quality. Eddie, the Landlord, is extremely welcoming and helpful. Great beer garden, which is secure so children can play safely on the many activities. I highly recommend a visit you will not be disappointed .

Spent the last two evenings at this pub for our evening meal. Very good it was too. The landlady went out of her way to do some new local potatoes. Yummy. Coming back tomorrow for Sunday lunch before leaving for home. Would definitely recommend.

My girlfriend & l called in yesterday for Sunday lunch. What a nice surprise, there has been a total refurbishment since our last visit, every where was super clean, bright & very inviting. The toilets were immaculate. The beef was perfectly cooked as we're all the vegetables. The forest fruit crumble was superb. The two hosts were very friendly & the service was excellent. We shall certainly be returning to sample their evening menu. Overall a thoroughly enjoyable Sunday lunch experience. Ray & Elizabeth.
