So happy to have found this gem. Owners couldn’t be anymore accommodating or down to earth. Every dish of our table of 6 was incredible both Starters and Mains. We couldn’t even fit in the dessert (this time).
You can even stay at the onsite campsite (the Den and Orchard) if you really want to treat yourself. Because it really is a treat to stay.
Can’t wait to come back. Again.
Just back from a fantastic Saturday lunch at the Fox, our first visit. What a lovely place - a really relaxed, friendly, stylish place to eat. Everything was top notch - I cannot recommend the classic burger highly enough, with such incredible local beef, and my husband's seafood basket was just as good. Great service, too. We are already planning our next visit.
We booked a family meal for our son's 2nd birthday & we can't thank the staff enough for making our evening so enjoyable. We got our numbers wrong when booking the table but the staff quickly joined extra tables on. Our little boy can't sit still for very long but again the staff were very supportive & moved round him whilst he played with his toys & threw balloons around. The food arrived promptly & they sorted his birthday cake for us as well. Thank you ever so much for being so supportive. Definitely will be returning!! x
Absolutely amazing place. We booked a table just because we were camping at the site at the back (den and orchard) and we are so glad we did. The look and feel of the restaurant is great but the food is something else. We were blown away by the quality and taste of the food on offer. We will be back! Great atmosphere, decor, beer, cider, wine, food and above all great hosts......what's not too like....a well deserved five stars, one of the best meals we have had.

I just spent the evening celebrating my 50th with my closest friends and family at The Fox. The food was superb, the service was wonderful and we were made to feel very welcome. I would recommend it to anyone. You should all be proud, you've made my birthday extra special.

Stayed at "The lighthouse" just up the road and wandered out in search of food. Found this place and can honestly say it was one of the best meals I've ever eaten. Nice selection of ales and a welcoming atmosphere. Not sure when I'll be in the area again but 100% will visit when we are.
Amazing! Driving back to London, searched for restaurants on google maps, The Fox came up with 4.6 stars. Took a punt as it's not too far off route and was well worth the detour.
Service was warm and friendly, food was amazing me and the wife both had the pie, served hot and in good time. Good portions, we loved the way the chips and veg came separately so you could decide how much or little you wanted. The boy had fish fingers and chips again good portions, I finished his chips.
As I said, well worth the visit.
We had been to the Festival of light at longleat so took a gamble & after fitting us in at the last minute, we enjoyed a pleasant main course. We just did not have enough room for desert. I had the burger and mrs baileys dad had a steak. The burger was well cooked & there were plenty of chips served in a mini basket. All the food was well presented, hot and tasty.
The staff are friendly & the prices are reasonable. The presentation was excellent & we did not have to wait too long.
We will return for another lovely meal at the Fox.

Absolutely amazing food!
We have been camping on the site so knew we had to try the local Grub & was very pleasantly surprised, i had the fish, my wife a burger & my son had a pizza & we all loved it, each item was cooked perfectly & tasted great! It’s a shame we don’t have another night because we would be having it again! Hopefully we will be back in October so looking forward to eating here again.

The best burgers we've ever had.
Discovered them in lockdown and have since treated friends and family to them, who all agree that they're the best. Staff are really friendly, good sized portions and their chips are really good too.
Clearly a small business trying to get their feet off the ground.
We ate there 2 nights on the trot.
The first night they were under staffed and we had to wait a while to order and for our food to come. When the food came it was worth the wait.
We decided to go back a second time and were pleased that we did.
The service was much better. The food was excellent. Produce was local and everything tasted freshly made. Even the children's meals had fresh vegetables. (A rare thing these days)
The selection of ales was good. The wine list could probably have been a little longer, but we still found a bottle we liked.
Would we go back? Yes! (But not on Monday as they are closed)
Looks like a traditional pub on the outside. There is plenty of parking around the building. Go inside and it's set up like a rustic restaurant; for instance there is no traditional bar. However we like the atmosphere of the place. The staff were polite and helpful. Drinks and food was served relatively quickly. The food we had tasted very good, obviously using good quality ingredients. The prices were a little on the side but not extortionate. However, we were pleased enough with our experience that you returned for a second evening. Happy to recommend.
The restaurant isn't open at the moment due to covid restrictions but we had a takeaway last night. The food was absolutely excellent, I had the Thai vegetarian curry and my wife had scampi and fries. There was plenty of food, good sized portions and really tasty, price was very reasonable and the service was spot on and very friendly. Couldn't fault it and we will definitely be visiting again.
Excellent Sunday carvery, best I’ve ever had in fact. Fab range of veg that they’d made a real effort with - as well as beautifully cooked roast meat. Will certainly be going back one evening to try the regular menu.
