Fantastic food with friendly service. Not your bog standard pub grub, almost fine dining but not with a more relaxed atmosphere. Food was perfectly cooked and the flavours carefully balanced so as not to overpower each other. The scallops were fantastic and the dessert are amazing. Not the usual off the shelf rubbish. These were proper homemade affairs. There was a little wait between courses but to be honest we like it that way. The staff were friendly and helpful without being overbearing. Decor was great and everywhere was spotless. Will definitely return.

Fantastic place to be inside, such amazing decor. Great selection of drinks, food is amazing, good size portions as well. They even have charger sockets at all the tables!

Really, really nice place to meet for a drink at lunchtime, have a bite to eat and enjoy the best made coffee in town. Lunch menu was really good and tasted great. 4/5 for atmosphere purely because it was a bit cold. More adequate heating is needed.

Wonderful food the Scotch eggs and black pudding with a mild curry sauce was an absolute delight. Then the ribeye steak one of the best I have eaten. With a mushroom sauce and the gigantic onion rings. I am now very happy. Staff excellent and I have thoroughly enjoyed my evening.

We visited this evening with a group of friends and had high quality, freshly cooked, tasty food. Compliments to the chef/s. Also well done to the restaurant and bar staff who work so hard. The Forge is a lovely place to socialise, probably the best in Gainsborough.

A dog friendly pub and restaurant in the heart of Gainsborough. The food was lovely with generous portions and freshly made. We didn't wait too long even though they were so busy . The staff are friendly but professional and hard working.
