Been to Gala so often yet never went to this tea shop until today. Sadly it seems to be closing in September, will make sure we go lots before then. Oot of tea made with tea leaves! Hoorah! The best cup if tea from a cafe in years. Coffee very good too, cheese scone was so light and lovely and the toasted teacake equally as good. The menu looks great, had we not had lunch planned we would have opted for one of the many options. Next time definitely. Super staff, so friendly and customer focused. Very, very clean place, nice atmosphere and reasonable prices.

Been here twice now, nice food, good service, good prices, seems very popular with locals and visitors. Different from other cafes who have chips on the menu. T 4 2 don’t, which makes it a cleaner place to sit in as no smell of chip grease. Portions are just right. Nice selection of cakes & scones, then there’s the cheesecakes. Who doesn’t love some cheesecake. Todays was Chocolate Orange which was divine. Will be back when next in Galashiels

Just had an absolutely delicious afternoon tea at T42 this afternoon. Very reasonably priced at £11per perso n . There was three choices of sandwiches, two sausage rolls , a plain and fruit scone with jam and cream and a mini strawberry tart, lemon sponge and a chocolate chip shortbread, for each person. Ample tea and a fresh big pit of tea when asked for. Amazing service with lovely staff. Recommend T42 any time.

Stumbled across this place by chance. I'm a big fan of family run café's and bakeries, so of course I had to sit down for a tea. They serve a large selection of scones, cakes, and other pastries, and they also have plenty of warm and cold drinks to choose from. The interior is very quaint, and somewhat reminiscent of a grandmother's kitchen with a somewhat modern twist. The staff is very polite, and you get your order quickly. The food and tea was delicious, and all at a very reasonable price. Would recommend!
