Called in for coffee with some vegan friends. With no prompting, the waiter suddenly twigged we were all probably vegan (well two soy lattes and a black Americano is a clue) and replaced our complementary chocolate with Love Hearts. I found that incredibly thoughtful and kind and friendly! Now all we need you to do is to make something we can eat as well! It would be really good to see the menu board and menu highlight things that can be eaten by those who only wish to eat plant based foods.
Had two fantastic meals here. Mathew the waiter was so helpful, couldn't do enough for us. My sons 21st birthday was yesterday and they sorted a complementary cake out as a surprise for him. The food was excellent and by far the best we had in the area. Thanks to Matt for making our time that extra bit special x
We celebrated our wedding reception at Quins this weekend. Sylvia and her team excelled in hospitality, efficiency, professionalism. The food was very tasty. We can highly recommend Quins. Thank you for making our wedding lunch special & delicious!
A nice place to go to have tea and cake but this time decided to go for an evening meal . We had a lovely welcome where we were shown to our seats the service was excellent. We didn't have to wait too long before our delicious food arrived. There was just the right atmosphere for a relaxed and enjoyable evening.

Overall it was ... nice - food is generous and homely albeit very poorly balanced dishes. I tried the Goats Cheese starter and Roast Beef as the main. Both were tasty, but lacked texture, balance and wow factor to them. The cheese came with a beautiful dressing, and the tiniest pieces of lettuce you'll ever see. Little less cheese, few more leaves and it would have been an exceptional dish. I came here specifically for their salmon dish, still on their website but no longer on the menu. So a little disappointed too.
Maybe I'm expecting too much considering the prices of food these days, but it's on the top end of prices in the borders and I expected a little more from the dishes.
The younger lady who served me was inexperienced and abrupt, but did the job. There was another waitress working when I visited and she was far friendlier and more welcoming.
If you're looking for a laid back, nice meal, it's the place to come.
