Popped in for tea & breakfast as my accommodation didn't have catering facilities. Due to the hot weather we ened up staying over in one of your rooms as there was a cancellation. Thank you team & especially a call out to Tracey at breakfast service 😊
We called in for breakfast. The menu has a good selection - we chose the Classic breakfast and can recommend it. It was well cooked and we'll presented and there was plenty of it. You get fruit juice and tea or coffee and can select from the continental breakfast buffet as well. All of this for £8.75 pp! Pretty good value if you compare it with the cost of a coffee and a couple of pastry items at one of the coffee chains.

Lovely little recommendation from a friend. Setting was nice. Food was tasty and arrived quickly. Great quality budget friendly options, so no need to break the bank. Very dog friendly. Staff were welcoming and helpful. An all round nice time.
Most of the times i've visited Gamston Lock only once as the food not been up to scratch, this is were i come on my own or with family. The food is mostly good & the 2 course menu is good value for people off a certain age. The staff are friendly & go out of there way to serve you, if the food is good it takes the pressure off the staff so compliments to the chef.
Welcome was great, drinks order taken and delivered quickly. Food order taken and starters arrived promptly. Took quite a while for mains to follow, unsure of cause of delay but all food was excellent. Really enjoyed our visit.
Great food, served hot, all 7 of us including 2 children were really well looked after even though the place was clearly very busy. My mum and dad had the kids’ roast dinner and thoroughly enjoyed it as they have small appetites so that really pleased them - and the gravy was amazing! Husband’s trio roast also great - generous portion. My steak and ale pie was lovely though there was far too much mash - lighter mash and less would have suited me better. All meals were very well presented. My brother’s fish and chips looked and was excellent. Only shame was that I’d booked 2 weeks in advance to request a table overlooking the play area and they were not able to accommodate it owing to busyness. It would also be great to have colouring books and pencils or similar to keep young kids entertained. Overall a great experience and we’ll come back. Thank you to all the hardworking and very pleasant staff, many of whom were quite young girls who coped well with so many big tables.
We have just held a wake with 30 people attending at the Gamston Lock, we had the 2-course lunch menu, the food was all prepared and served superbly, the staff were brilliant and great value for money. A big thank you to Alisha, Paul, Craig, Leah and Tracey. They made us feel really welcome and even set up some photos before we arrived.
Food, atmosphere was lovely. However, I have never witnessed such miserable staff ever! Not even one - all of the team that were in our section were miserable, abrupt, stand off ish and almost like they have been told not to smile. That put a dampener on it really as it was a birthday celebration.
Visited with my teenage daughter. Couldn't fault the seating, the quick table service for drinks, the speed of food arrival, the quality of the food, sirloin steak and hunters chicken. The friendliness of all the staff we encountered. A lovely experience for a well needed quality time with my daughter, thank you 😊
