Stopped off here on a long walk from Beccles, lovely place close to the river and very peaceful. Had the filled baguettes with side salad and tortillas with a side of chips - baguettes were lovely but the tortilla crisps were tasteless and dry - maybe change to basic salted crisps? All said, really nice place to refuel and the staff were all lovely ☺️

Been here many times. Food always good (when they serve food) last 3 times including Friday and Sunday between 3pm and 5pm they either didn't do food at all or just chips. Drinks always a bonus! Nice pub in a great location. Very helpful and friendly staff. Dog friendly. Highly recommend 👍 😊 👍

We hired a canoe nearby and stopped here en route for lunch. Large outside area where we sat. Lovely salad, generous portion. Very good value. Lovely service. Live music (it was a Sunday). No lattes (coffee machine) but they did have soy milk.

Stayed in local area and dropped in twice - via canoe on river and walked. Watched excellent covers band Wake Up The Nation on second visit. No frills but pleasant atmosphere, normal pub fayre, plenty of space and large riverside garden.

We first came here when we camped nearby in 2019. I think, at that point it must have been on the slippery slope towards closure. I gather it had been flooded on more than one occasion due to it's close proximity to the river and the couple running were losing heart. It's now a pub owned by the community! At short notice around 1500 people rallied round and put their money and tremendous efforts where their hearts are. It's now a very popular, unpretentious pub and meeting place for the local populace. Decent food and good ales and friendly people who weren't prepared to lose a large part of the history and heart of the area. Good mooring on the riverside and a peaceful spot.

We have visited the locks before. The food is always of a good standard, super tasty, and good value for money. Since this has become a community pub the changes made have been wonderful and create a much better environment and experience. The broads authority have renovated the moorings with a pontoon for canoes etc and an area you can pull them into ( out of the water) to store whilst at the pub. The bridges over the water have been refurbished by the environment agency and again enhance the experience and cosmetically lift it all. We brought our granddaughter along who loved playing in the open grass area and exploring the small woodland walk.

We came here twice on our holiday, once via a beautiful walk through villages and fields and second via boat. The weekend visit had outdoor music, a great atmosphere, lots of dogs and good drinks. The second time was a quiet weekday lunchtime and the staff were very friendly and helped me carry my drinks and food to the table. We loved the recommendation not to drive there which made getting there part of the adventure. Thanks

Was with family, four adults and a child. The pub was busy as it was a Sunday and had live entertainment and conker competition. The food was good standard burgers and the atmosphere great. The only small downside was that all the adults were served food first and the child's came a bit later. However, he did enjoy his pizza. We would definitely use again, either on our boat or even by car. Good value and a good selection of beers

Great vibe. Lovely to see this unique old pub saved by the community. Food was regular pub fare, weather was amazing(can't really score the pub on that but it makes a difference, beer was exceptional.) Great place on a sunny day. Since we were arriving by kayak we missed it since there was no sign on the river indicating where to go. I think that would be a really simple thing to organise and would have saved us some unnecessary paddling🙂

Great little pub ‘in the middle of nowhere’ Parking is a bit tricky as it’s down a rough track and then you have a short walk to the pub itself, but it’s worth the effort. Food is good quality pub grub and there’s a good selection of drinks we even tried the pina colada cider.
